Love this place! Great food. Reminds me of San Francisco restaurants. xoxo

Came here for my 40th Bday on a camping road trip. Bison steak was why we chose the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Pairing with seafood add on and causes matched nicely. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal in a non imposing atmosphere.

We have eaten at John's several times and it just misses being a great restaurant. The complimentary bread was undercooked. The salmon was nicely cooked but very greasy on plate and the horseradish sauce was good. The broccolini was basically raw and was difficult to cut. The duck was well prepared and the sauce was good. The service was good but wine could have been brought to the table quicker.

This place is AMAZING!!!!! Chef John is SO talented!!!! The food was absolutely fabulous and our waitress, Graciela, was the best!!! I had the baked feta, and grilled salmon with broccolini. Also had the Lavender Lemonade. My husband had the clam chowder, and new York strip. We shared the bread pudding. We live in the valley and came up for the weekend and I WISH John had a restaurant in the valley! Best food I've had in a while!! Kudos!!!

I REALLY wanted to love John's Chophouse. Prescott is sorely lacking in upscale restaurants that you know with confidence that you can go to, have a lovely ambience, delicious food, good wines. So, my husband made reservations for Valentines Day, and although we didn't get the details until several weeks later, we agreed to the $89 a plate pre-fix meal...hoping that it was going to be a special night! Alas, I am compelled to say that it was a big disappointment! The wait staff and manager were very friendly, very helpful and attentive. The food was just not tasty! We started with an oyster appetizer (no other options), and the oysters were covered in a pear "relish" so that you couldn't actually taste the oyster. The next course was lobster bisque...one of my favorites. But the soup was overly salty, most likely made from a seafood bouillon instead of fresh lobster stock, and we only ate the little piece of lobster on the top. The next course was the salad. It contained a few pieces of blood orange, and orange slices...but was completely lacking in any kind of dressing at all. Next came the raspberry ice, and it was delicious! We then received our main course (two choices, sea bass or lamb shank). Both of these servings were very small, served with almost nothing else on the plate, and in the case of the fish, undercooked in the middle. The dessert course was a small piece of white cake with buttercream frosting...tasty but seemed that it was previously frozen. I admit this dinner was not the standard faire found on the daily menu, so I can't comment on whether those items would have been better. But for $89 I expected a meal that every bite of food was savory and delicious and the Valentines Day dinner fell way short of that goal!

What a wonderful find in Prescott!!! The food is creative and EXCELLENT, the drinks good, and the service wonderful (thank you Graciela!). Be sure to try the Baked Feta and the Bread Pudding. Both are to die for.

We had our first, and pleasingly delicious, dinner at John's Chophouse tonight. Wine and full bar provided. My tequila sunrise was good...and the bar tender came to our table to assure that I was pleased...a nice touch. The meal started with their complementary homemade bread and butter. A pleasant surprise. Next, the Mushroom Duxelles Puff Pastry appetizer.....plenty for two people, and very tasty. For entries, I had the cioppino, which came with a moderately spicy tomato sauce and lots of mussels, prawns, scallops and white fish. It was accompanied with several slices of crispy bread to dip in the sauce. All very delicious! My husband had the yummy Caesar Salad, declining their multiple forms of protein add-ones. The Caesar dressing was homemade, included anchovies, and was well-made. We wanted to try their yummy sounding desserts (bread pudding, crepe brûlée etc), but unfortunately, were just too full from their previous generous portions. We'll need to come back again for just drinks and desserts to enjoy them as well. The waitress was very attentive and eagerly assisted us with our selections. A great experience overall. We will return to try some of their other dishes!

AMAZING. The atmosphere was very chill, minimalist. The steak, and sides delicious and the Cesar salad was out of this world. Daniel our host was a great guy. And their signature old fashioned was primo. First place im stopping if/when I pass back into Prescott.

I was really hoping for something to expand the food offerings in Prescott. No such luck. First, I'm in a chophouse. I expect to get a steak knife. I didn't. Did I need one? Most definitely. Both my wife's filet and my pork chop were tough. The buttermilk dressing was watered down. My wife's baked potato was luke warm. The highlight was my potatoes au gratin. But at least it was real expensive. Don't think I'll be back.

The food was incredible, very tasty, good portions. Drinks were way overpriced. $14 for a straight bourbon plus I was charged and extra $2 for not having ice. Weird thing was my friends drinks were charged an extra $2 for ice in their drink. When I asked the server, thinking there was a mistake, he said they pour more when no ice. Then why do the also charge for ice? And if I wanted a double I would have asked for a double. I guess if you have to ask you can't afford it. But if thats their philosophy then why nickle and dime (or fiver and ten) your customers?

The 30 minute wait past our reso time was fine (good bar). Stuff happens and the wait served to sharpened our taste buds. 2 of us had the Cioppino and and 2 others had 4 oz. Filets. Rolls baked fresh ea day excellent. Service spot on. Acoustics fine (I'd heard it was loud). Ambiance nice. Creme Brulee and warm pear baked desserts lovely. Now we have four good restaurants in town! You guess.

Hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had!! Amazing food (thats probably an understatement) great conversation from our bartender. He made us perfect drinks. Knew everything in and out food and drinks. Very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

May be the best dinner I've ever had! great drinks! the seared duck, filet mignon, and salmon were all amazing! Our bartender (not the usual bartender) was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable with the whole menu! Oh and I forgot about the lemon crusted crab cakes! couldn't have asked for a better experience! 5 out of 5. Will definietly be back!

You simply MUST dine here! EVERYTHING is prepared on site, Chef made, and utterly delicious. From the sophisticated wine list, to the unusual apps, to the delectable cuts of meat - all is a mouth-watering feast for the senses. I had the salmon last night, and it was done to perfection; after enjoying my favorite app - stuffed mushroom caps in puff pastry. An eclectic choice of hamburgers and salads as well.

John's Chophouse has set the bar in Prescott on there food. A little high priced. One recommendation for this place would be is to use table cloths, it would dress up the place a little more. But overall my wife and I had a great meal & time.
