We have eaten at Torme several times, and the food is always spectacular, the portions generous, and the service impeccable! Last night, we called last minute, and Rebecca was quick to assure us they had room. We were seated at a lovely table outside (highly recommend), and Parker was quick to our attention. The mussels and prawn appetizer was to die for, and the house special (chicken and prawns in pesto) was wonderful. I usually wait to make a review until we have tried...
Loved the atmosphere and service, but the food fell short. The chicken piccata was grossly overseasoned with too much lemon juice and herbs - almost muddy with herbs. The rib-eye was undercooked making it a little chewy for my tastes, and the risotto was slightly undone giving a slightly nutty texture. One and done for me.
This place had some really outstanding dishes including our appetizers, sides on the main dishes, and some of the main entrees with exceptionally balanced flavors and great seasoning. The saffron scallops topping were overpowering and didn’t bring out the savoriness of the scallops. We wished the scallops and the duck were a little more rare, too. Overall very pleased with the food but are going to try other dishes next time.
