Portillo's Queen Creek

One register open ten people in line. Portillo in Illinois is known for good food and fast service. I have been to four in Arizona and the one in Queen Creek is the worst.

They are playing horrible pop music way too loud. This is enough to drive me right out of here. My Portillo’s in Chicago plays oldies at normal volume.

I first had Portillos back in Illinois in the early 2000s and have been a loyal customer across the country for years.
Stopped in this location today and was amazed at how small they have shrunk the sandwiches. I always ordered a big beef and could never finish the entire sandwich because of the size, yet today I found that it is about half the diameter that they used to be and about double the price. The food seems like the quality has also gone out the window, it's still a decent tasting sandwich, but not how they were.
I guess I can no longer tell everyone I meet that Portillos is a great place to eat.
First time in over 20yrs I left a Portillos and wasn't completely stuffed.

When i order by uber I do not receive my entire order.
This time missing onion rings and the note to add pickle spears.
This is the second time it has taken over 2 hours and not complete order.

It’s Portillo’s, so you know it’s good food. Do not leave the drive through without checking your order though. They leave something out or mess up the order 7 times out of 10. How hard is it to teach staff to check orders before putting them out?

My food was absolutely horrid, I ordered fries with light salt, they put extra extra salt, the manager said she tasted the fries and i was right they were extremely salty. My chicken tenders were overcooked and rubbery, ugh just horrible food! So disappointed! ☹️

What a great place!! ?Fun atmosphere!! Today they went out of their way as our big family ordered theor delicious chocolate cake,they sliced it for us!!!! Talk about great service!!! And.....they have candles to take home with $29.00 cake!!! ??

I’m from Chicago and have been going to Portillo's most of my life and I was super excited when you opened this location close to my house in Queen Creek AZ. I understand the cost of everything has gone up and portion sizes have gone down throughout the food and beverage industry. What kind of shock me was when I added giardiniera to my combo they charged me an extra $0.75. Whatever it’s only $0.75 but to a sandwich that is almost $5 more than I was use to paying in Chicago it bothered me a bit. Then I opened my sandwich and it barely had any giardiniera I got a little more irritated. I went up to the counter and ask for some more and the person told me they could get me more but it would be another $0.75 for 1oz of giardiniera I just walked away.

Living in Chicago for 20 years, we have high expectations, service is way slower and the portions are smaller. Beef sandwiches are still great, just smaller

Hotdogs taste like they sat in hot water all day. The bun was wet. The hamburger had so many condiments on it that the bun was a soggy mess. The French fries were perfect. As far as service the girl at the counter must hate her job. Didn't greet us and no smile. Just looked like hurry up. As far as the atmosphere it's an awesome setup. Most likely won't be returning.

My first experience at a Portillo's (not this one) was not fantastic, so I was hesitant to go back and try it again, but I was also craving a hot dog and fries, and this was a good option for that. Plus, my hubby loves the poppy seed buns, so I go if it makes him happy! We did get hot dogs and fries. The fries were better than a lot of places, so I appreciated that, and the hot dog (for me, anyway) was just so so. Nothing particularly spectacular about it, but it did satisfy my craving. Also, we got dessert... a strawberry shortcake and a seasonal spice cake. My hubby said the strawberry shortcake was amazing, and my seasonal spice cake was WOW. So. Good. I will be going back to buy a full size cake even if I have to make up an occasion for which to use it!! The restaurant was clean, and they cleaned our table/booth thoroughly before we sat down, and there is a lot to look at while eating also. This made up for my previous bad experience, and I will likely go back, even if just for cake. :)

Field Roast is one of the best plant based sausages I've tried and so glad I can find them at Portillo's. I wish they could offer burgers and deli slices as well. I like the restaurant's old fashioned ambience. Sorry I didn't take pics from the inside.
