One star is for the incredible view out of the back of the restaurant. The second star is for the food and drinks - which are very good IF prepared accurately....but you're lucky if that happens. Food is absolutely overpriced. Someone explain to me why I just paid $40 for two basic salads? Seven bucks to add chicken and it's not even a full chicken breast? No thanks, that's not happening again. Salad & Go has proven that there's no need to charge that much for a salad anywhere. And my grievance isn't just with the salad prices, that's just my example. The service is so so terrible if you're not a member or regular. There is absolutely not basic standard of service for any other patron. It's really disappointing to watch servers stand and talk to a table for 20 minutes while you get ignored. Yes, this happens every time I've gone here; it's certainly not a one-time occurrence. Unfortunately, you've got a better chance at getting an accurate order if you go in and get a table, but ordering to go? Not a chance. It's wrong literally every time. Every. Time. I've provided polite feedback to management and they apologized but clearly didn't care enough to put any changes in place. It's truly unfortunate for those whole live nearby that this is the only place to eat in the area, but fortunately for Needle Rock, it's the only reason they stay in business.

Really disappointed in my take out order. I ordered butter cake for a sick kiddo who was dying for a piece and it was burnt completely black on the bottom. Completely inedible hard as a rock. For the price point of the food it needs to at least be edible.

They changed their menu so no more beer mussels and no more eggplant hummus. Their spicy pizza is super cheesy and the shrimp rigatoni was really flavorful! Unfortunately my husbands steak was over cooked and it took time to make another one why by that time we all finished eating so had to take it to go.. which was a bit disappointing . Service is really good here.

Great happy hour with friends! Thought well drink cocktails during happy hour were better than dinner service cocktails. Server, Alyssa was delightful in helping get service by the happy hour deadline. Only negative was that it rained and we could not be out on the patio for a fabulous Mountain View. Not their fault but Mother Nature's!

Love the room and the food but Renee was our server and she made everything better.Dietary restrictions: My wife has celiac and gets sick at most restaurants even when she orders gluten free, but all went well for this event and no cross contamination experienced

The timing of beverage service and food service is off. The food arrived much too quickly, and an ordered bottle of wine for dinner didn't arrive until we were mid-way or more through the meal. The server was conscientious, but unseasoned. This wasn't his problem, it seems it's a managerial concern re: the dining experience. The food is very good.
Food and service are top-notch. Only minor complaint is that it can be a bit noisy and hard to hear others at your table.

One of my favorite restaurants but have big concerns after our visit. We had a reservation and were sat in front of the private dining room where there are no other tables, a hedge divided us from the restaurant area. We had a new waitress who did OK, understandably. The hostess who sat us there came to us after 1 hour and 15 minutes and said we only could be at that table for another hour at max because of a private party which we replied if our food could be delivered that would not be a problem, we've been waiting over an hour. It came 1 1/2 after we had been seated. I ordered a dish I often order, chicken parmesan with pesto cream sauce. It came and was with marinara sauce. I asked the waitress and she said she would find out why. The answer, the menu had been changed and that is how it is served now. Funny if you are going to change the menu the first thing you should change is the actual menu which still says it comes with pesto cream sauce. I nicely mentioned it to the manager when leaving and he said he has been telling marketing to change it for weeks. Obviously an excuse and no apology for getting something I did not order. Just blame to someone else. If that were the case, maybe they should be telling the waiters/waitresses when taking orders to explain that that dish has been changed. Truly all around disappointing time at the restaurant. So sad to leave a review like this. We will try it again but will ask many more questions when ordering.

I frequent often and it seems like its never consistent with the food. Don't know if there are different chefs each time? I brought two friends who were visiting from out of state for brunch. Two of us got the eggs benedict and both our (4 eggs) were overcooked. The waitress never came back to check on us till we were almost finished. I did mention it to her and she was apologetic but that was it. The other friend got the omelet and her sauce was the same as ours even though it said it was different. We ordered 1 cappuccino and 2 lates and they were all the same and were brought over in Styrofoam cups instead of cups. She said they ran out of cups??? So that was a spoiler....doesn't taste the same. So to say the least, especially when your taking guests, I was disappointed. Other than that, the view is beautiful! I am taking more people this week and I hope we have a better experience.
Needle Rock does a good job of managing capacity with appropriate staffing. Shrimp rigatoni was outstanding. Waitress, servers, and wait staff were organized and worked well together. Overall, excellent experience. Well done!

OMG we all made the clean plate club. Definitely will return. Although they need to get some better wines. They only have California wines. They need chianti some Italian wines,new Zealand etc
