Greek Islands Grill

Quite literally some of the best food I’ve had in a while! We got the Gyro Picanto, the Chicken Athenian, Greek fries, and an order of the Nutella honey fried bread. All incredible. Couldn’t decide what I loved more! Ate too fast to take a picture but the food is incredible!

I ordered the gyro pita with French fries as a take away. Both items were over salted, especially the fries. The meat was good but too many onions for me. The floor between the Coke machine and the bathroom was slick like an ice rink. I had to be very careful not to fall. It appears a scrapper needs to used on it to get the grease off 🤮

I visited on May 28, 2026. I ordered from the menu. The item i chose was listed as $13. My bill was $17.98. I asked the woman attending at the counter why there was such a discrepancy. She said the prices had gone up and had not been changed on the menu. Bad practice #1. I told them the price listed should be the price charged. This exact thing has now happened to me in three places here in the area. The woman only shrugged. I was hungry and not in the mood to argue. I left with my takeout meal and examined my receipt. What I saw is that the meal had gone up by 50 cents and the woman had added a handsome tip of $3 for herself. I did NOT add that tip. I never tip when I order at a counter for takeout. They are not doing anything over and above providing the most basic service. Regardless, my next step will be to report this establishment to the Arizona Attorney General’s office. I let the other 2 places get away with shady practices but this seems to be a problem in the Queen Creek/ San Tan Valley area.

The food was plentiful and good. The meat itself could've been warmer. We had Gyros with their Greek seasoned fries. We hadn't been here in years and found they'd re-done the place. It looks brighter and more spacious.

The gyro meat was pretty decent, but I specifically asked the cashier to omit tomatoes from my gyro and this was not done. The Greek salad I ordered for my mother was not fresh; most of the lettuce was wilted. Staff was friendly, but I was disappointed with my takeout order.

I love this place. It is one of the few restaurants I actually crave and actively seek out. The grilled chicken is so flavorful and the pitas are so soft. The portions are almost always enough for 2 meals. The staff is friendly and the place is always hoppin. 10 outta 10 love Greek Island Grill

I would like to start out by saying that I prefer to go to small businesses when I can.

I walked in, and both of the employees were working, so I sat down. The employees were both calling out names as they completed orders. It turns out their printer by the kitchen was not working, so I ended up waiting far longer than I should have to in order to get my food. From the time I arrived at the restaurant to receiving my order, two parties sat down, and one finished all of his food. They received my order, but the person working in the kitchen preparing orders never started working on it. I would have asked for my order, but there was a large sign by the cash register that stated, “This is not fast food, this is food that we make as fast as we can,” which discouraged me. When you have a sign that basically reads “The food will take as long as we need,” then I don’t want to ask why my food is taking so long.

I'm a firm believer that it is not what you do when something happens, but what you do to fix it.

In this case, they did nothing to rectify the problem. Once my order was ready, they gave me the food, but they forgot to give me the drinks with my order. I asked for my beverages, and they handed them to me.

When I got home, there was something frozen in the ice that looked like a black spec. I am not sure what this was, but it was enough to avoid the soda. Looking at reviews, it seems like others have had similar complaints about the soda machine. This makes me feel wary.

Other than my complaints, the food was delicious. The gyro was delicious and generously filled. The fries had feta cheese and a Greek seasoning. The decor of the restaurant was charming. It had fun pictures on the wall, and pleasant piano music playing as I waited for my food.

I’m not writing this to tell people not to come. If anything, everyone else in the restaurant seemed to have a wonderful time! It’s just the lack of apology following a mistake, and the issue with the soda that upset me.

Be prepared for a wait especially if it's Friday night. It took 40 minutes to get the food due to all the orders coming in. It's a small shop, but the food is fantastic. The staff were very friendly and everyone ordering food was understanding. They need to look into expanding the kitchen and or hiring more cooks to speed things up. Aside from that I will give them 5 stars across the board.

I saw this restaurant by my ENT office and went in and ordered a salad and dolmas. Everything I have ordered there is great tasting. Don't be fooled by the casual atmosphere, Greek Islands Grill is fine dining at its best.

The food is never ready on time. And soda machine is consistently dirty and not well maintained. Too much bubbles or too much syrup.

I originally reviewed this placed 9 years ago and it's still just as good now as it was then. This is a great spot for fast, delicious Greek food. The portions are generous, and my meal came out quickly and hot. The French fries were crispy and really tasty. My favorite meal is the classic gyro. It’s consistently very good and always comes out great. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick and satisfying lunch!

The staff were the best part, the food was delicious but when I decided to order three Gyros they were shocked and for good reason, I barely finished one. They were respectful and make great food. I can't wait to go back.
