The owner was very cordial and answered all of my menu questions. He recommended the hot roast beef sandwich as his #1 most recommended sandwich. We went with it, and the roll and cheese were great, but where was the beef? The beef that was there was tasty, but there wasn't an abundance of it.
My daughter enjoyed her two meatball, half sandwich. Overall, I would try it again, but maybe get a classic Italian Sub. so as to fully evaluate. They use Boar's Head meat in the deli, which is better than some delis. However, some of the ingredients are questionable concerning BH meats. They have a good selection of jarred goods and pasta, as well as deli selections.
I wish I lived closer to further explore their offerings.
The place is small and fills up fast for lunch so be prepared to wait if you're going during peak hours. Looks and feels like a neighborhood Italian deli, which I enjoy. If you like pastrami, you have to try Howie's Pastrami. Without question the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. Save room for the cannolis.

I stopped by Guido’s Chicago Meats & Deli today for the first time after a buddy—who’s been going there for over 20 years—recommended it. The moment you walk in, you just know it’s the real deal. That classic deli aroma hits you and instantly makes you hungry.
The place has a warm, welcoming vibe with a menu full of options—tons of classic dishes and hearty portions. I was starving, so I went big and ordered the Veal Marsala (I’m a creature of habit and like to try familiar dishes at new spots). It did not disappoint—everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and plated well.
This spot is only five minutes from my house, yet somehow it’s been off my radar until now. It’s definitely a hidden gem, and I’m already looking forward to bringing the family back. Love discovering places like this right in my own neighborhood.

Tasty meatball hero, excellent broasted chicken. I have also grown quite fond of their Guiltless Guido lunch, for days when I need to behave at the table.

Ive had the food from here before and its legit, but I called today and placed a to go order. Tried to order an Italian sausage sandwich with mild peppers and fries, something happened on the line and got hungup on before I ordered the fries, not a big deal, so I call back and order the fries, pick up was easy, open my sandwich at work and its an Italian sub not the sausage sandwich, called them to let them know about the mistake, I hear Joe in the background asking what im mad about, I wasnt mad just called to clarify the mistake on your end. He told me the call was choppy and all he heard was Italian. No apology. No attempt to fix the mistake on their end after spending $34.00. Terrible customer service Joe.
Great spot 👍🏼

We had the buffalo wings. They were very good. Not traditional buffalo sauce but the sauce has a good taste and it's not too tangy or hot.
We also tried the homemade cheesecake. It was delicious. But really expensive just for one slice. It was $12.99 for one slice. You have to ask for strawberry topping if you want it.
I gave the atmosphere a one-star because it's really too small of a place to be comfortable eating in. Everyone was on top of each other. There's hardly any room to move and you'll be bumping into other customers and people working there. We took our food to go.

Really great lunch. Our server, Manny was incredible. He was so busy, however he filled our drinks quickly and with a smile. The food quality was fantastic. The meatball sandwich was delicious and the personal pizza tasted incredibly perfect. Great place to find Italian groceries as well. Big thanks to Manny, and the entire staff at Guido's!!!

Okay, to start, I'm originally from NYC but was involuntarily transplanted to CA. Both places have the best food types in my world. We moved to AZ this year and look for food genres based more on reviews than on stars. One day, I was in the mood for a meatball hero. In my mind, it had to be equally as delicious as Cortinas's Ialian Deli in Orange County. My goodness, Guido's Chicago Italian Deli & Meats in Scottsdale is head-to-head with Cortina's, though two completely different meatball sandwiches. Being from NYC, I like the decor of Guido's a bit more because it's small, crowded & cozy though the lighting is bright. I've tried their signature Italian beef & pepper sandwich and though good, not delicious in my humble opinion. I drive 50 miles once a week to have a Guido's Meatball & Cheese Sandwich made on the most scrumptiously wonderful bread, with pepperonis on the side and a Dr. Brown Black Cherry soda. Enjoy as I do❤️
