We had a great dining experience at Hacienda. I had the pork carnitas and they were made exactly how I like them. Not too dry and seasoned well! Portions in my opinion were decent and drinks were well made with a good amount of alcohol. Service was also excellent, waitress checked on us a few times! Gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because the restaurant itself can use a little updating. Women’s bathroom had a funky smell and booth seats had wear and tear…including some colored...
Friendly service. Lively bunch at the bar dropping plentiful F bombs. It is a large restaurant, but we were seated right by this noisy bunch. (?)Food was good, but small portions. I had the Chile relleno which was very good.
Cali-style mexican dishes. Can't quite explain the bland taste, but definitely different than other 'Mexican' restuarants in the metropolitan Phoenix and suburban areas. Let me tell you that real mexican food is better prepared in a home setting with a mother or grandmother that takes their time to select the right ingredients beforehand and put forth the extra effort to make a meal for her family. No sauces drom a can or jar.
