We had the six course tasting menu and a couple cocktails per person. The food was very good and demonstrated a lot of creativity in many aspects (presentation, flavor, texture, etc.).The service was attentive and friendly, although we were two of maybe four or five people in the restaurant at the time.It was a little hard to find the restaurant, it’s sort of “hidden” inside a vintage hotel location, but the ambiance was nice, inviting, visually interesting and comfortable.Definitely a hidden gem and would recommend a visit!Parking: Was a little unclear where the entrance was, but once you find it there are signs for parking for the restaurant. It wasn’t too busy so we had plenty of spaces.

Fantastic new place from an amazing chef. A bit pricy for the portions, but the food is incredible. Mushrooms were phenomenal. We ate at the bar but will be back for tasting menu.

If you're reading this, you must go here. We were having a bit of a family crisis, but holy smokes these guys were fantastic. Food - incredible. Drinks - insatiable. Service - this family team knows what's up because they took care of us like we were one of their own. I personally ate 95% of my family's dinner order, and I loved all of it. I will drag my whole family back at the next possible opportunity.

Such a great experience!!! The food was a 10/10, and we loved having the chef bring each dish to us. We had each of the signature spoons, which were a menu highlight. Such a hidden gem! Would recommend to anyone.

Mid century vibes. Attentive knowledgeable service. Outstanding cocktails that are truly unique. Of course Nobuo is a legend since Teeter House and Sea Saw days. I think we are nearly everything on the menu. Can't wait to go back.

This place is not 5 stars! Location is in some random motel lobby that is hard to find. Menu is small & food is not 5 star worthy. We left hungry & would not recommend anyone coming here for authentic Japanese cuisine. I don't know how it has 5 stars. Really disappointing.

Wonderful meal! Only things lacking were the desserts & wait staff. Latter too intrusive & seemed to lack experience. Will come back for the food! Also, finding the restaurant is quite challenging! A larger exterior sign would help!

Quite the gem! Food is small bites. Perfect for sharing over drinks. Everything we tried was delicious! We went on a Thursday night. Vibe was very mellow and quiet enough we could hear each other talk. Bartenders/waiters, Arizona and Zack, were super friendly and attentive.

Great little find in Sonder (look for that sign) with totally retro feel and furnishings! Small menu done extremely well- tried almost everything and must say kudos for the dish that caught James Beard's attention!
A hidden gem. Not what you expect for a Japanese restaurant in Scottsdale, but that's good. One great chef dishes out your ordered items in random order. The bar is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable. You won't mind any of the weird stuff. Just embrace it and enjoy. One can only hope it will last.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. One of if not the best Japanese restaurant we have ever eaten in and one of the best overall. Food was magnificent, service was attentive but not overbearing . It was perfect would not change a single thing.

My husband and I dined at Hai Noon on a Tuesday evening. I made a reservation for bar seats, but when we arrived, the bar was full so we sat a table, no big deal. The host did offer us to move to the bar when two seats became available. We ordered 5 dishes. They were out of the bao buns which was a bummer (however I also appreciate the limited menu and items, so I presume everything to be quite fresh). The dishes we ordered were: grapefruit avocado (hamachi), salmon (6 pieces), softshell crab and rice noodle, lamb chops and mushrooms. The chef delivered each dish and is very proud. I love that! I thought the drink selection was great, especially for a small establishment. I would definitely recommend Hai Noon.

The food is as good as it was at Nobou, the drinks were amazing. The portions are really small. ordered 8 plates for 2 people and left hungry. for the price need a little more food per plate.
I decided to take my girlfriend here on Valentine's Day, and it was the best decision I've made in a while! High quality food and drinks, but expect to order a good amount if you have a big appetite. Highly recommend the Hamachi spoons!
