I was waiting at Discount Tire for a tire repair and needed a late lunch and what better could I ask for than cowboy bbq. I had the pulled pork and fries. There was a comment made at the door that outside food and beverage wasn't allowed, but having no place to stash my water bottle I took it to my table. The waitress also asked if I knew outside drink was allowed, they seemed OK when I ordered a coke. Sandwich was served quickly with a smile. The only issue I had was with Google showing the restaurant was busy, when it wasn't yet even though it was Friday afternoon. I almost didn't go, not having time to wait. Glad I went anyway.

I went in to meet some friends and hear a band play. Random night and wasn't expecting to go out. I had the BEST time. Great band, great venue and super fun. Highly recommend.

So you should know a Upon arriving there is a $10 CASh cover and if you want you sit or be inside to listen to music you need a dinner reservation. Staff is friendly and food it s great but this not a bar it's a restaurant There are only 6.kr 8 bar stools and on.a Saturday night, every table is reserved. So plan ahead and know you are paying a cash cover for dinner and music. Not a bar or a place to walk in and see music.

We met another couple at Handlebar J for cocktails. Upon entering we noticed their fun & different merch. We browsed & picked out a couple items when Kristie came over & asked if we were finding sizes & mentioned they have a merch store across the street that she would open up for us. We jumped at that so she led us to the coolest shop full of all sorts of western items including merch with Handlebar J logo. I didn’t know they had an actual retail shop so it was fun to see it! Go check it out! I picked out 2 items & another item I wanted a size they were out of so Kristie said she would order one & ship it to me. We headed back to the bar while Kristie packaged all our items up & brought them to us at the bar.
Kristie contacted me a few days after that she had the item in the size I needed & quickly mailed it off to me.
Kristie is very enthusiastic & was eager to help us find what we wanted. Our party had a fun time joking with her. She is quite the asset to Handlebar J!

Music and entertainment was high energy. Loved it! Great story behind the bar and the years they have been around and established. Food was sub par and definitely not worth $24 for 1/2 rack of ribs with a bun should have a potato or beans with it side salad to add on was $12.99 rip off. I would have had the fish fry if I knew it was a better deal. $14 Tito soda with cranberry?!?! All ice. It seems suspicious to bring the tab to us with no receipt and have us pay before letting us look at the bill with prices. Party of 6 had a 20% gratuity added. I could run circles around the bar and take care of business much easier Will I be back?! Sure I will pre game and eat before I come back because the atmosphere was awesome

The bands are amazing but the lady bartender with blonde hair is extremely rude all the time to not only me but to so many regulars there for no reason. Yesterday I told Ray the owner and he told me to just be rude back. Seriously, that's how you treat your long time customers. I own 2 businesses and if a customer ever told me my staff was being rude I would immediately take action and handle my staff. I , nor other guests should have to feel uncomfortable when they order a drink or food. I'm there to have a good time and not be treated poorly for no reason. I go to Rusty Spurs and everyone there is so nice and treats me with the utmost respect. Never had a problem. I always tip the staff well and am always friendly at Handlebars. I spoke to several regulars there last night whom encountered the same experience with her constant rudeness. She needs to go!!

Nice place. Too Scottsdale for me. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is certainly not the best in Arizona as claimed. It was greasy and the BBQ sauce was uninspired.

Food was over priced for what you get. Picture out front show rack of ribs with cob of corn and potatoe wedges...... what we got is ribs with a silver dollar size bun.

Good atmosphere and people but horrible service could not get a drink for 45 min they only had two bartenders in a wall to walk packed bar people in to get served by the time we did the bartender was upset and attitude and paid $57 for four drinks she made that no one would drink because they tasted horrible
