I went into Kauboi (“Cowboy”) with such high hopes and was genuinely excited to try it. There’s a dress code listed, and we made sure to follow it, but interestingly, some guests were in sweatpants, which felt inconsistent.
It was 58 degrees outside and they had all the doors open. Even though we were seated inside, it was freezing the entire time, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the evening.

Simply an excellent dining experience at Kauboi. Great ambiance, friendly and attentive staff and some of the best sushi I've had in my life. If you're a sushi fan, try the Sonora Sunset Roll. You won't regret it. A MUST try in Old Town Scottsdale!

The Bad:
- Had a reservation for 7:30. Our table wasn't ready until 8pm.
- Was told there was a dress code. We dressed appropriately. When we got there, other patrons were wearing jeans or shorts, t-shirts, ballcaps, boat shoes, and sports jerseys. Not classy.
- Ordered a steak Medium. It was served rare. Instead of cooking a fresh steak, they put my already-sliced-steak...
