Been eating here for over 20 years. It’s the place my out of town guests always want to visit first. The new owners have lost the plot. They’ve raised the prices while lowering the quality of food, service and charm of this once-favorite downtown Scottsdale restaurant.
Thanks for all of the great memories over the years, Malees.

After having an appetizer, the waiter never came back to the table for a long time. Poor Service the plates sat in front of us for a while. We stacked them up ourselves then it took forever to get the food. A 22 1/2% automatic tip was charged to my bill. I got an argument with the manager, which I wind up being cursed out.

I changed my review because I only had one problem here and have returned many times and the food is always excellent. I've been coming here for years if not decades. Here's a fun night.....
For those of you wondering -on Thursday nights Scottsdale Old Town has an art walk where you get to walk up and down main Street after hours usually until 9: 00. It's fun. If you have in town guests- a bite before at Malees and a walk is a perfect evening. It's nice during the summer.
If you don't like Thai food I recommend La Laconda- Italian.

My mother used to take my sisters and I here all the time growing up so I decided to stop in after a long day at work… I ordered the lettuce wraps which were alright. I didn’t think anything of it but while eating fruit flies 🪰 kept flying into my food and mouth… I tried not to think the worst ate, paid the check and headed for the restroom. I couldn’t use the restroom because the roaches were all over the toilet. I will absolutely never eat at this establishment again. 🪳

The place is really nice, with simple but pleasant decor, and the atmosphere feels comfortable. Out of everything I tried, the Pad Thai was definitely my favorite — very delicious and the highlight of the meal.
The rest of the food was okay, but honestly, not as memorable or as flavorful as I expected. The biggest issue for me was the service: very slow. Even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy, everything took quite a while, including something as simple as paying the bill. That definitely took away from the experience.
As for the prices, I wouldn’t say it’s cheap, but for the area, I think they’re reasonable. Overall, nice atmosphere and great Pad Thai, but the service really needs to improve.

I usually never write reviews BUT Me and my sister went to eat here a few days ago. And let’s just say the food there was so bland it DIDNT even taste like it had like any SEASONING OR SPICES. I got a curry and it was very disappointing i added chicken there was probably 5 small pieces in it and the potatoes in the curry were not soft and just was not a good curry at all. And I got level 3 spice did not taste the spice at all. So basically had no spice no flavor in their food which was really disappointing since they had pretty good reviews online. And service was okay. She seemed really nice. But she wasn’t attentive with us. So I say don’t go here!

Took my mom to lunch here yesterday. We ordered the larb appetizer and drunken noodles. Neither tasted anything like larb or drunken noodles. They also sprinkled fresh tomatoes(!?) On top of the noodles. To make it even worse, the card terminal was set at a minimum of 25% for a tip. I begrudgingly paid $55 for 2 waters, an appetizer and an entree that left us both feeling resentful and wondering how they call this Thai food. Would not return or recommend.

We walked in without a reservation. Luckily there were tables available.
We received excellent, attentive, and prompt service from Zach. Our drinks were refilled at just the right time, and each dish arrived perfectly paced. We never felt rushed, yet there was no unnecessary waiting.
The portions were generous, and the spice levels were well balanced to our taste. We especially recommend the Tom Kha Gai—particularly the seafood medley version.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable dining experience.

The restaurant was a cute setting in the street that it’s nestled on is even better lights string across from one side to the other lighting up the entire roadway. Art gallery after art gallery sit across the street. It wasn’t the traditional Thai food that I was looking for, but the dishes were on point. I had the mint lettuce wraps. I don’t know if it’s standard practice but for me that’s OK. My hands are cleanse my soul, my mind, my consciousness. I’ve never seen a lettuce wrap that didn’t come prepared before. Perhaps they didn’t want to touch my let us aka lettuce. For the organic and the higher self you all are. Embrace the change to be different. Recognize the part of you that knows what your thoughts are. It knows what and if you think about things, enter with the highest intentions in the places that only the cleanest of souls get to go. The restroom was not equipped with hand, sanitizer or powered sinks or powered hand, dryers or paper towel dispensers although I didn’t have to turn the dial to get the paper towel out. There was no hand sanitizer at the front desk no way for me to sanitize my hands or to make sure that the cleanliness practices were being followed by the rest of the staff so that I didn’t have to get someone else’s code also known as germs on me. Thank you for Google for the recommendation for what I didn’t get in the restaurant. I got in scenery and it made up for the loss. My rating on Service only reflects the fact that you were not prepared to meet the needs of somebody’s spiritual and health practices, there was no hygiene available at the front. I was almost run into by one of the workers on my way to the restroom to wash my hands. The host and hostess were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to learn how to split a payment for a single person without putting me into feelings of shame. I work and I live day-to-day. My money is gone before I even get a chance to think about what else I would’ve wanted. I work three jobs. I work for Instacart, Uber and Lyft and I am always working for God. I asked that you leave my consciousness as it found you directly on the page as I saw it as this was my experience, and I am trying to collect all of my memories for my heaven when I look back at all my lifetimes and I get to see the favorite pieces. Thank you to MA the first two letters on the building. I knew there was art somewhere here for me.
