Wow. My wife and I lived in Tijuana for nearly 2 years. We largely avoided Mexican food for over 6 months since moving to the area. It was just never up to what we had in TJ.
Maskadores is the real deal. The tortillas are authentic and the birria is to die for. The birria is in the top 2 I’ve ever had and I had birria as much as possible in TJ.

If you’re anywhere near Maskadores Taco Shop #14, do yourself a favor and order the Bandera burrito—absolute game changer. Everything about it was dialed in perfectly. The carne asada was flavorful and tender, the chicken was juicy, and the shrimp added that extra kick that takes it over the top. You can tell they don’t cut corners on ingredients.
