We went there a weekday evening at around 8 pm and the place was pretty empty when we got there. However, they were also very thinly staffed (2 wait staff that also served as the host and the bartender). We were seated promptly but then we waited for almost 15 minutes before someone circled back to take our order. The food came out pretty quick though. Six of us had dinner . Ate outside. Food took forever! Was told that the 1 sushi chef was overwhelmed because “sushi was very popular tonite.” I would think that a sushi restaurant would have more than one sushi chef and not be surprised that many people are ordering sushi.! Server was as accommodating as could be and apologized many times for the extra extraordinarily long wait and missed item.

If you are looking for Japanese food in Scottsdale Obon is the place to go. Happy hour is served daily from 4-6. Happy hour menu half off starters and some sushi and discounts on well drinks, signature cocktails, beer, and wine. We started with Gyoza, miso soup and veggie spring rolls.
