PHX Beer Co. Scottsdale Brewery & Restaurant

The fact that the chicken sandwich was good is the only reason for 1 star. Hubs reuban sandwich was bland. Service was good at first, then she was more interested visiting with friend at the bar. We had to go to the bar and ask someone else for the check. We won't be returning for sure!

We were looking for a breakfast place and got a recommendation for a place in the same parking lot/strip mall as PHX Beer. That place was packed with a crazy hour and a half wait, so we looked around and saw PHX Beer and decided to try it out.

PHX Beer is a cool place tucked away in a central but somehow a corner of the mall. The have a huge interior and a nice sized outdoor eating area. That's where we sat. Our server was incredibly friendly and quick with drinks and recommendations.

My wife got some kind of skillet without meat, and my son got a bit of both a skillet and french toast. I got their B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Burger). The breakfast options were plentiful and nicely prepared and the skillet actually is served in a skillet. I think she got the corned beef hash skillet minus the hash. It has a base of breakfast potatoes (well done - just how she likes them) with scrambled egg whites, red peppers, green peppers, salsa, onions, and Swiss cheese with sourdough toast. It really looked good. The French toast also looked really good and came with a side of fruit. He got the All In (2 sausage patties, 2 strips of bacon, 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast but replaced the sourdough with the French toast. It all looked and smelled wonderful.

I got lunch instead of breakfast. My B.Y.O.B. is a 1/2 lb. or grass fed brisket patty, which is a little juicier. My choice of cheese, which I took American, with lettuce, pickles, and mustard. It was a great burger. It came with slaw or seasoned fries, so I chose the fries. They were perfectly made, not too crispy and not too soggy. Like Goldilocks, they were just right. The bottomless Diet soda also helped the meal.

I know that Butters Pancakes and Cafe is in the same lot and has the long lines to get in, but, skip that nonsense line and go to PHX Beer. We were satisfied immensely with our meals. The service was great, the ambiance nice outside overlooking the pond, and it's a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. When I'm back in Phoenix, I'll be back to PHX Beer.

Service and food were both pretty good. I wanted something simple so I just went with the chicken tenders; the breading had a nice robust flavor. My friend got the burger and it had a nice backyard burger taste but was cooked a little more than requested. I also enjoyed a few light beers that were crisp and refreshing on a hot day, although it was kind of warm in the place and some of the set tables were dirty. Overall I enjoyed; they just need to work on cleanliness a little bit.

Really enjoyed every aspect of this place. Grabbed a table on the patio for lunch. Nice view of the water and walking trail. Pretty good beer selection, and the food was good! Chicken sandwich was delicious and the homemade chicken strips the kids had (not the kids menu ones) were really good too. Wish I had more time, I would have liked to have come back here on our vacation.

If you are going to make a claim of having the best fish and chips ever, you better love up to it. And they did! Wow they were good. Best I've had in a long time or perhaps ever.

Great beer selection. Monsoon IPA is fantastic. Nice patio and great service. I will be back for sure!

The ambiance is really nice with a good view to the lake. Food is really good and beer is amazing. Totally coming back!

Edited stars due to a cool response from management. Beer was good, service was awesome, but that food was atrocious. Flavorless, boring, and bland. I don't mean any offense to this, but for the price, it needs to be better. You have a massive smoker on the patio (full of dirt, spiderwebs, leaves, and bird feathers btw) and you don't even use it for anything on the menu? I'd be happy to buy it off you since it's just being used as a dirty water bucket holder.

Amazing beer and such a cool setup. Huge space, big bar, loads of options, and food too! Beers to stay on premises or go. Staff is excellent at making a selection suggestions and walking you through the menu. Prices were very fair.
