We haven't been to this restaurant for over a year...we remembered why. Service was slow, food wasn't good, the swordfish was overcooked and cold. The food is overpriced too.

We love Soul Cafe, so took some of our out-of-town friends the other night. Gotta say that I was a bit disappointed with the chicken piccata this time. It's usually one of my faves, but VERY dry this time. Service has always been great here and we won't let this stop us from going again.

We made reservations originally for the dining room via OpenTable but then we got there and there was a great table in the bar area in the corner. as they had bar happy hour menu items. Only, it was a win-win I loved my figtini! I can't believe all the great and unique options including the zucchini bread!

Disregarding a few recent negative posts, we decided to give it a try and so glad we did. We were pleased to get a quiet booth in the rear of the restaurant. It has a neighborhood yet hip vibe. Cocktails, wine service and food were all very good. The beet salad was amazing, as well as all of our other dishes. We splurged on dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back and try some different choices.

We had a lovely dinner with an out of town guest who had not been here before. All three of us thought the meals and service. by Victor was very good. The. Red stroganoff, short rib ravioli and mexaloaf were all very delicious. We also had the coconut shrimp and beet salad and they were also outstanding. We love this neighborhood gem and love bringing people here.

They need to work on service. No refills and they weren't too busy. Good food. The wait staff should be trained better.

We've been to Soul many times. Last evening we took a couple who had never been there. We all loved it and they vowed to come back again for dinner and try breakfast too. Food and service were great and our friends commented on both.

$18 for French toast with eggs and bacon...I would have been okay with it if it was good. The French toast was dry and the bacon looked like it was cooked perfectly but it was chewy. The service was good though and so was the local syrup ...

A consideration if you are on a diet and would like to forego a meal. Not a consideration if you require reasonably good service. After placing an order for 2 (both a Friday dinner menu special, no appetizer), sat for 45 minutes without food service. Flagged our waiter at the 30 minute mark and was advised that the kitchen was backed up. Never saw him (Victor) again. Walked out at 7:30. While the restaurant was busy, there were open tables which suggests that the kitchen is poorly managed and staffed and not able to accommodate front of the house seating when at capacity. Fortunately, there are many good restaurants in the immediate area to choose from. We subsequently dined at Preston's just up the street.

Have been to Soul Cafe several times and always had good food and good service. Not last night - we sat at 6:15 and our dinner arrived at 7:50. They were nice to bring us free bread while we waited (for our appetizer). Two of us ordered Walleye Almondine - it had almost no flavor though was swimming in butter. Asparagus a d mashed potatoes which were served with the fish were good though. Scallops and special Dover Sole got a good review. But service (waiter was nice - issue was obviously in the kitchen) was not good. Would unfortunately hesitate to go again any time soon...

For some reason on all our trips to Scottsdale we have missed this gem of a restaurant. We ate there three times on our current trip. I had Chicken Piccata, Walleye Almondine, and Maple glazed Salmon. My husband really liked the Pork Chop dinner. We will definitely tell our friends from home that spend time in Scottsdale to head to Soul Cafe!

We eat at Soul about twice a month or years. We waited too long for our table which we had a reservation for. The people at the front desk were completely unorganized. We wanted to bring another couple but Open Table stated we couldn't change our reservation from 2 to 4. We were seated at a table for four. The food which is usually very good, was not up to their standards. About the only thing that was first rate was the waitress. Very disappointed, may take a break from Soul.
