As a cocktail writer, my duty in life is to seek out the nearest bars in my travels. Luckily, my stay at Hotel Adeline was made better via its Straight Up speakeasy. Yes, they have a gimmicky password phone service but hey, it's still kind of fun.

The bartender served us right away and was super helpful in making sure we got drinks we enjoyed. This speakeasy has more of a home library-vibe and isn't too big, but it's still a nice spot to try out. Don't be misled by the fact this is a whiskey bar; they have several other types of cocktails too. Their espresso martini is quite good!
