This place reminds me of being back in Japan, very authentic and flavorful. Today was a colder day so we opted for some warm ramen and it hit the spot. The nigiri was fresh and melted in our mouth. Conveniently located by the office we walked over with no wait for lunch right before it got packed.

Found this gem as we were staying nearby. Sushi is always hit and miss, especially for us here in California. We walked into Sushi Sen on a Sunday evening and found the atmosphere very warm and intimate. Greeted right away with welcome and not the usual shout most places do made it feel more on the classy side. Scanning the patrons I noticed most were asian so that gave me a good feeling about the quality of the food.

Service was quick and friendly and we were seated right away. Large selection of food with moderate and up pricing. We had a couple of rolls and some nigiri. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect. The most impressive item to me was the simplest. The edamame seemed super fresh and not microwaved out of a frozen bag as is usually the case.
Easy to see why the local Asians eat here and now our go to place for sushi when visiting the valley.

The sashimi is good quality, the rolls are average. We haven't tried enough to have a well rounded opinion. The service is expedient and friendly. Having Tamari(gluten free soy sauce; low salt would be appreciated) and fresh wasabi is a plus for this neighborhood restaurant.

A Japanese friend recommended Sushi Sen, and seeing so many Japanese diners in the restaurant raised my expectations even further.

The sushi 🍣 and bento box 🍱 were good, fresh, and well prepared. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and can understand why the restaurant has a loyal following.

That said, the experience didn’t quite live up to the high expectations I had going in. While everything was solid, I didn’t find many dishes particularly memorable. We also ordered the scallops, which had a much stronger flavor than we expected and weren’t our favorite item of the evening.

If you’re looking for a traditional neighborhood Japanese restaurant with a local following, Sushi Sen is worth trying. For me, it was a good meal, though not one that would immediately draw me back over some of my other favorite sushi spots in the Valley.

Best sushi in town, in my opinion. My wife, daughter and I stop in for dinner occasionally after a day at the Railroad Park. We were blown away by the quality of the food the first time we came and it's been consistently amazing every time since. The staff has also always been very accommodating to us and especially our daughter; I see some older reviews have called this restaurant anti-kid but we've never gotten that impression with our 4 year old (and she was 3 when we first started coming here). They've gone above and beyond to make her happy in fact; There's a particular serving bowl with monkeys on it that they gave her the first time we came, and she's requested it every time since. They've always done their best to accommodate that, even going so far as to wash it on the spot for her when they found it was sitting dirty in the back! We were blown away that our server went to such lengths to both find it and wash it, frankly. So yeah, very accommodating indeed. We'd eat here more often if we could afford to but it is a *little* on the expensive side. Totally worth the price! But it's not an every week sort of restaurant, at least for us.

(We have since found the same monkey bowl online and bought a few of them for our daughter because she loves it so much. We'll try to remember to bring our own to give the servers a break! lol)

We were served by Kate and happened to be the last customers of the night. Even so, she treated us as if we were the first. Her service was attentive, friendly, and always quick to respond to anything we needed. We truly appreciated her hospitality and outstanding care.

There are a lot more better sushi places than here. Price is expensive unless it’s on Wednesday, the renovation is nice but food wise is below average.

It was a nice Saturday lunch today! I love my Asahi draft beer and assorted sashimi. All fishes were fresh and perfect potions. My husband's chicken karaage was great also. I definitely come back again!
