Great restaurant and experience. There was some issues with the air conditioner which caused it to be a bit warm. Besides that I recommend this restaurant.

The wife and I had our 21st anniversary dinner here and it was fantastic !!!! Great atmosphere and our server was fantastic as well as the main courses and the deserts were crazy good !!!! Great date night place to spoil your girl

I wish I remembered my server's name but she was so awesome and attentive. I had a friend in town and she made sure the experience was top notch! Also, food and drinks were great!

Terrible seating. Table for two at bar entrance- my chair was bumped/kicked every time someone walked by. Food okay. Oysters were presented nicely. Taco combo was solid. My spouse sent the enchiladas back as they were all dried out. Atmosphere was a bit too noisy for my liking, but it's typical for Scottsdale.

This was my first time actually trying Toca Madera after a failed attempt earlier this year. Back in April 2025, I came here to celebrate my birthday but was turned away at the door for wearing athletic shorts. While I was outside talking to security, I saw another guest leaving who also had on athletic-style shorts. I pointed it out, but the security guard said he hadn't seen that person when they arrived. I ended up going somewhere else that night. Fast forward to this visit — I was in town for the Chris Brown concert and figured I'd give Toca Madera another shot. I made a reservation for 5:30 PM, wore pants and a casual shirt to be safe, and called ahead to say I was 13 minutes away. The staff confirmed I was still within the 15-minute grace period. I arrived at 5:49 PM after parking next door, but the host said I had missed the grace period and would need to wait — with no guarantee of being seated. After waiting 30 minutes, my party was finally seated near the bar. We ordered the sea bass taco trio and two drinks. Honestly, the food didn't live up to the hype. It lacked flavor and felt pretty basic — I personally think Javier's is much better. The drinks were fine, but nothing special. Overall, after two tries, I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.

Overpriced food items, the sort of place you go to see and be seen as opposed to enjoying good food.

Terribly slow service when it came to drinks.

Over priced, very small servings, the sashimi was ridiculous. There at 5:30 with a reservation specifically requested a birthday celebration and a table in the main dining room. Instead, we were given a table in the bar, and the birthday celebration wasn't mentioned other than when we checked in which we reconfirm the birthday. The table in the bar was extremely wobbly after 10 minutes of someone trying to fix it we finally had to mandate that we be switched tables. The restaurant was 75% and empty at the time. The food was tasty. The drinks were tasty. The drinks are poured with heavy ice. 

I went for brunch and everything was delicious Love this place

We had an excellent time at the bar here! Noah was absolutely excellent. He was quick, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and he really put forth the effort to make it special. Thank you Noah for a wonderful night!!!

My husband said this was one of the top 5 meals he's ever eaten. So good! Definitely the best Mexican food we've ever had. If we ever head back to Scottsdale we will be back!
