The restaurant was beautiful and our server was very friendly and helpful. Plates looked amazing, but the taste overall was a bit underwhelming on most dishes. The focaccia only came with one small piece and needed more to be able to fully enjoy the dips. Overall, it was nice but not somewhere I'd be clamoring to return to.

Zinque was one of the best places I've eaten at in a long time. The tables are comfortably spaced, and the ambiance is inviting. The food was outstanding. The quiche Lorraine had a deliciously flaky crust and a fluffy, subtly flavorful custard with prosciutto and Gruyère. The pommes frites were cooked to perfection. Dillon provided outstanding service. We can't wait to go back and try breakfast or dinner.

We loved the food! We tried the fried artichokes, grilled shrimp with Za'atar yogurt sauce, half roasted chicken with unbelievably delicious potato gratin and the burger with wonderful skinny crispy frites. Everything was so good! The ambience/tables/couches seem very boho though - definitely not French bistro IMHO. Servers were friendly, borderline too casual but overall it was a good experience. Would for sure go back for the food.

This is a great place. It's usually pretty quiet when we go. We've tried just about everything on the menu and it's all delicious. The steak frites with au gratin potatoes is the best. Always wonderful service!

Really broad menu, each choice a keeper. Fish, chicken, beef and vegan. French leaning. Everyone can be happy. It's safe bet and really tasty.

We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we checked in. We are greeted by our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable and good at her job. She suggested the grilled salmon and the braised short ribs, which we ordered. They were both delicious dishes they were presented beautifully and they were very tasty. We plan to go back.

Food quality superb! Menu is quite varied and has something for everyone. The chef knows NOT to overcook fish so my salmon was perfect and vegetables and rice seasoned beautifully. The chimichurri was lemon infused which enhanced the steak frites. The short rib was very tender a d the side order of Brussel sprouts terrific. And if you are a fan of chocolate mousse order TWO portions because it is “to die for.” Staff attentive and bar options plentiful and of high quality. Will definitely come again next time we are in Scottsdale.

Our server was attentive and the outdoor patio setting perfect to enjoy a quiet lunch. The menu is varied and meets the needs of pretty much all food preferences. I'll be back.

Great food with outstanding service. Had a small family dinner with nice music playing at a level you could still enjoy good conversation. Highly recommend and will certainly be back!!

They are sooo ridiculously slow And both employees at the bar are extremely stuck up. Never once an apology for the super long wait. It felt like I was being a burden to them - The brunette hostess/server. And the guy behind the bar with a black rock band t shirt - totally with an attitude.. know how to cater to your high end guests. You have no idea whose in front of you so be professional and courteous at all times. You guys are ridiculous for a place that looks and designed like that.

In response to Alisa:

I was sitting at one of the “couple of tables” you mentioned, and as someone who also frequents Zinqué, I watched this entire situation unfold in real time. Your review leaves out quite a few details — specifically the ones that would make it clear the issue here wasn’t the staff.
Let’s start with the claim that the two male servers that were unfamiliar to you. They’ve been here for well over a year; any actual weekly regular would recognize them immediately. The fact that you don’t, undermines your entire “I’m here all the time” narrative before we even get into the events of the day.
Next: Zinqué is minimalistic, but even then, one of the very few signs in the building is the one that says “Please Wait to Be Seated.” You walked right past it. Choosing to ignore it and then acting victimized when things didn’t go your way isn’t evidence of mistreatment — it’s evidence of what happens when someone decides a posted process doesn’t apply to them.
You bypassed the waiting area, parked your stroller at a table, went to the restroom, and then seated yourself. At no point did anyone deny you service; the servers were working diligently and didn’t see you. I have a feeling that’s why the sign is placed up front (LOL). That’s basic etiquette in any restaurant without a dedicated host — and everyone else that day managed to follow it without confusion.
Your complaint about not being able to stand and wait “with a baby in your arms” doesn’t hold up either, considering you arrived with a stroller. You had the exact tool meant to make waiting easier, yet you disregarded the process entirely and blamed the restaurant for the outcome. That’s not poor service — that’s poor decision-making.
Your sense of self-importance is incredible to not only demand to speak to a manager, but think one would end up calling you back. Expecting a personal callback over a situation created entirely by ignoring a posted sign is unrealistic. And no, you weren’t being “treated disrespectfully.” Several guests, including myself and another person outside, watched you escalate something that was entirely self-inflicted. The staff remained calm the entire time.
This review doesn’t read like an honest account of what happened. It reads like an attempt to shift blame after creating your own problem and then refusing to take responsibility for it. Zinqué handled the situation professionally. You did not.
Leaving a one-star review because you disregarded a clearly posted sign and then didn’t like the natural consequences says far more about you than it does about the restaurant.
