Just had the Friday Fish Fry tonight. I'm a bit, actually a lot, of a fish fry snob being from MN growing up and having fish frys almost every Friday. This fish fry was by far the best since I left our favorite place in MN many years ago. The fish was light and battered (not breaded) with a choice of baked potatoes and french fries, coleslaw and a biscuit. I asked for crispy fries and that's exactly what I got. The plate is a generous helping of 7 good sized pillows...
Extremely friendly and such a great atmosphere. Everyone greeted us, not just our server. The outdoor sitting area is really nice. The area is set up so that you don't feel crowded. Food was amazing! They definitely do not skimp on the portions. Even if you just get an entree, you will be full. We are getting two meals from the burritos that we had. They also have a 55+ menu at the tables for breakfast and lunch. We went about 11 am and it was not crowded but by noon it...
Now you should all know that I am a Mexican food snob. I have Mexican heritage, my mom was an awesome cook, and I believe that Tucson has the best Mexican food in the US. So, I know what I like and I don't just go to any Mexican restaurant that's around. I did go to another Mexican restaurant (that shall remain nameless because they're really nice people) the first time I came here, and it was really disappointing after a long day at work. So, I was a little skeptical...
