This place has great reviews so $100+ for three adults was worth the risk … but it didn’t pay off. We got all the sides … except they were out of sweet potatoes??!!! We should have cancelled and left then. Orders were wrong … twice and never made correct. Food was minimal in portion and not as advertised for the money and most of it tasted like licking the salt jar and nothing more. We are from southern Louisiana so we know good soul food. And with a name like Soul Food Therapy! The best things on the menu were the mac and garlic mash which can be found almost anywhere these days. Thumbs downs 100% on meats drinks cornbread and cakes. We will never eat here again.
We recently moved to Hereford and noticed the Soul Food restaurant. I believe this establishment needs to be recognized. The service was great, the food tasted like a home cooked meal that your Mom/Grandma made. Absolutely delicious! I especially loved the catfish and the all the sides. Our family we definitely be returning. Enjoy Sierra Vista!
Very happy with our trip here. Food and service were both amazing. Wife had the catfish and I had the BBQ Sunday bowl. Portions were very decent and everything was delicious. Will certainly be visiting again.
Oh man, where to start with this place? Walking in, we were immediately greeted by three things: super friendly people who immediately made us feel welcome there, the enticing smells of something perfectly seasoned and fried, and a dazzling display of desserts-- all homemade, which is really the only way to go. It only got better from there! The drinks were wonderful (I had the half-and-half southern sweet tea and pineapple lemonade on the recommendation of Joy, who did not steer me wrong!), the food was even better (Mac n cheese was cheesy and flavorful, southern style green beans were buttery and yummy, and the fried okra was crispy and SO GOOD to the point where my standards have been irrevocably changed-- no longer can I eat slimy okra without longingly reminiscing on this meal), and the desserts..... Oh boy...... I'm an amateur baker, and upon tasting the layer cake and banana pudding, I spent about a minute seriously considering dropping out from a 7 year college career, moving to Arizona, and becoming this wonderful man's apprentice (if he would have me, of course). I'm still thinking about it. I just hope this missed opportunity doesn't follow me for the rest of my life like a spectre of regret! Overall, this overly wordy review is to say I was EXTREMELY impressed with this place, and am devastated that I live 11 hours away. However, my sister lives in the area, so maybe I can find more excuses to come out here! Thank you guys SO MUCH for this wonderful meal experience!!! ^u^(I would add pictures of our food, but well... we weren't exactly patient enough to take any!)
Before going I had only heard good things, and eating there for the first time ALL of my expectations were met or exceeded. I had the friend pork chop (pictured), the food was well seasoned, large portions, diverse and overall delicious. The wait times were not too long, friendly staff and a welcoming feeling as soon as you walk inside. Truly 10/10 I will be coming back.
I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment. From the moment that my family and I walked through the door, we were met with courteous staff. It only took 10 minutes to get my food and that was at the "busiest" time according to Google. I ordered the Soul Bowl and was happy with the portion size. It left me feeling satisfied. I didn't feel like I over-ate or as if I didn't have enough food. Also, the seasoning was immaculate. I did make sure to stop by the cake bar before leaving and got an oreo cheesecake. This made for a lovely dessert! I would definitely go here again and I would recommend this to anyone that wants to try real soul food!
Soul Food Therapy is OUTSTANDING!The restaurant owner (Ms Hopkins) and her staff are attentive, on the ball, polite, and great for recommendations of dishes to try. And they have occasional “dinner specials” too; just ask!My wife and I had an excellent salmon entree with three sides: green beans, dirty rice, and red skinned mashed potatoes. And a square of corn bread too. Excellently presented and tasty! The fare is very reasonable since the meal includes the entree, a drink, three sides of your choice, and corn bread. We love the low-key, non-rushed, quiet ambiance of the dining room which leads to a relaxing dinner event.Desserts are available and if desired, they can be taken “to go.”A 5-Star Restaurant!
I have to say the food was amazing. They care for their customers needs. Absolutely professional! I just wish we would have found it sooner. I definitely recommend to anyone who lives in Sierra Vista if you haven’t tried you MUST try….
The food was excellent and the staff was amazing! Both of my kids were in food comas after! Large portions and unique, delicious flavors. We’ll be back for sure!
Awesome food, great service, amazing atmosphere

Let's just say (write) this: I am from Texas and know Cajun, Creole and Soul food....This is not a paid review nor do I know the staff.Go get the best South Carolina "Grandma's cooking" "after church Sunday special for the Pastor and First Lady, eat your heart out soul food in town. Amazing, friendly owner (Mrs. Hopkins) and her beautiful staff. Loved meeting and chatting with all of the team members. You can tell everything was homemade. My order of fried pork chops came with 3 sides: that I chose: mac and cheese, dirty rice and collard greens! Slap yo Mama this was great! My son ordered the fried catfish, with his 3 sides of: mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes and dirty rice. He enjoyed his food selection(s) so much. WARNING: Drinks are super sweet just like when we were kids. My son and I sampled 1 glass of Pineapple and Lemonade mixed together. And....the finale to the meal was Lemon butter huge slice of cake (Did I write that it's a shareable size?!) So delicious......cake menu changes weekly.Soul Food Therapy team members are excellent in customer service. Mijoy, our server, was well versed in each item and knew each ingredient. Mijoy spoke so passionately about the food. The price is great for the portions and drinks included (free refills on most drink items).Give this place a try if you ever have the chance. I promise you won't regret it. Absolutely yummy food for my soul and wonderful service. Can’t beat the price and I’ll be going again for sure when in town. Enjoy.....
Do not miss the delicious comfort that is Soul Food Therapy. Joy, our server, was incredible and helpful with selecting dishes. I had the Cajun catfish, and my husband had the BBQ Soul Bowl. We ordered extra sides to try - collard greens, pasta salad, dirty dice - in addition to the sides that came with the meal (million dollar mac n cheese, southern green beans, side salad). We also ordered the baby cakes and drinks. Every bite of every dish was INCREDIBLE. You can taste the love in EVERYTHING. The prices are reasonable, the ambience in the restaurant is very relaxed and comfortable. Definitely recommend trying this place, and recommend coming back again and again.
Omg this place was amazing!! I got the shrimp and grits and it was though the roof!! The service was excellent thanks joy!! Everybody in my party loved there food amazing balls!! The staff was so friendly they made us wanna come back again! I highly suggest this place go if you can!
Justin, pictured, came out checking in with the guests to ensure their satisfaction with his cooking. The staff indeed showed great appreciation towards their guests. It will take a little time than may be expected to cook, it is freshly prepared. The cherry cheese cake (pictured) was not only tasty, but as you can see, attractively presented. The background music was a Jazz and R&B blend. Justin said artists such as Masego FKJ are played for a pleasant and relaxing background. The dining room has eye catching furnishings. A partial meaning of “Soul” food, can be found in a few Scripture quotes posted on the wall in the dining area. Soul Food Therapy Restaurant is family owned and managed. It has been open since Veterans’ Day in November of 2021, a definite must to try. Remember to left click on the photos for your best viewing experience.
We tried the Fried Catfish plate which had 2 large pieces of catfish. It was crispy and delicious, the green beans were very good as was the garlic mash & Mac n cheese. We also tried the fried Porkchop plate with similar sides. 1 big delicious chop w gravy. All and all I would recommend this place as it offers a welcoming different taste this area has been lacking for a long time.
