Someone recommended The Meading Room and we gave it a try after visiting Hops and Vines on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting area was busy with a few high tables left for sitting and tasting. We waited our turn at the counter and learned our Sonita and Elgin area purchased glasses were no good at this location. We sampled a number of ciders and meads and concluded this wasn't for us. We moved on to the next location on the tasting rooms map.

The Meading Room is my happy place. It's super chill, with beautiful scenery and delicious drinks. They have events throughout the year, but it's also a perfect way to spend a quiet Saturday sipping mead and looking out at the hills (and sometimes horses and cows across the road). The variety of mead and cider is good, with dry and sweet flavors, and a lot of different fruits. They have a couple wines too, with Old No. 9 being my personal favorite. They do flights, so you can taste different drinks before deciding which glass or bottle to buy. I usually pick up a few bottles on the way out, for me and to give as gifts because my family and friends are fans of this place too

Large variety of very different and I would say unique offerings. Throw your mead stereotypes out and try some samples. We went in for the cider and left with 4 bottles of the "sparkling" mead. I think of mead as being very heavy, but this was light, bright, bursting with unique flavors. A well chilled bottle should be perfect with our warm evenings.

Staff are kind and helpful. The ambiance is relaxing and comfortable. We ordered two flights of drinks and an onion and garlic goat cheese board. Everything was worth the price and this will be my new go to spot for drinks!

Two words to describe this place: super comfortable. Everything from the service to the setting made this the perfect stop for a chill afternoon.

One of my absolute favorite spots for a tasting or a glass. The staff is kind and knowledgeable, there is so much indoor and outdoor seating, and you can’t get over the views of Sonoita! A must visit.

Really enjoyed our flight of drinks. We also got the goat cheese platter which was really good. The staff is so friendly. We can't wait to go back.

Meet me at the Meading Room!

You don’t find too many Mead establishments & this one does not disappoint.

Great selection of Meads with a hip tasting room.

Worth the stop:)))

Alas, your weekend in wine country is coming to a close — time to head back to Tucson and prepare for another tedious work week and a miserable Monday replete with moronic meetings and a multitude of stupid emails and the myriad other forms of pointless electronic communication. Everyone “Adding Value”. Totally depressed just thinking about it. So maybe cap off this relaxing wine country weekend with a stop by The Meading Room. And that’s just what we did. Charming place, nice folks, and they were serving refreshing mead slushies or slurpies, perfect sippin’ for a hot summer day on their shaded patio. The magic elixir did the trick; forgot all about the week to come. Definitely worth a return visit!
