Someone recommended The Meading Room and we gave it a try after visiting Hops and Vines on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting area was busy with a few high tables left for sitting and tasting. We waited our turn at the counter and learned our Sonita and Elgin area purchased glasses were no good at this location. We sampled a number of ciders and meads and concluded this wasn't for us. We moved on to the next location on the tasting rooms map.
The Meading Room is my happy place. It's super chill, with beautiful scenery and delicious drinks. They have events throughout the year, but it's also a perfect way to spend a quiet Saturday sipping mead and looking out at the hills (and sometimes horses and cows across the road). The variety of mead and cider is good, with dry and sweet flavors, and a lot of different fruits. They have a couple wines too, with Old No. 9 being my personal favorite. They do flights, so...
Large variety of very different and I would say unique offerings. Throw your mead stereotypes out and try some samples. We went in for the cider and left with 4 bottles of the "sparkling" mead. I think of mead as being very heavy, but this was light, bright, bursting with unique flavors. A well chilled bottle should be perfect with our warm evenings.
