My husband and my son went for dinner twice in the last couple of months...when they are in Pine. They think both the food and service is amazing. I'm excited to go when I get up to Pine. They HIGHLY recommend it!!

This is a long review for the restaurant. I live in Strawberry and although I’ve seen that this restaurant has been open for a while I also heard that reservations are needed and normally I’m not a reservation kind of guy. Anyway, this restaurant is expensive for the area, but we decided to check it out and stopped by about 4:30pm on the way back home (after hiking on a Saturday afternoon) to ask if a reservation was required and pick up a paper copy of the menu. Although it’s not the busy season it was suggested that a reservation be made for that night, so we made a reservation for two for 7pm, and they make it for a specific table. We arrived about 6:50pm and were advised the table wasn’t ready yet, that the people eating at it were still there and it looked like they were almost done and should be leaving soon. So we sat at the bar and I got a bottled beer ($8). The staff was very friendly and after about 25 minutes (at 7:15pm) we were offered some bread. Up to this point, while we were seated at the bar, we watched a couple of parties of two come in and were promptly seated at tables. The restaurant says it closes at 8pm. At 7:25pm I was a getting a bit irritated, I didn’t say anything but the hostess came over and said she would check on our table. She came back and said the couple was still there, and that the restaurant had a 2 hour policy for eating at tables (meaning people should be ushered to finish if they stay too long). She came back a few minutes later and said she had another table for us because the people were still there. We were finally seated at about 7:30pm. At this point I have to say my attitude was already a bit negative and although we both liked the atmosphere of the restaurant our dinner experience was already jaded. Unfortunately it didn’t get much better, despite the server being very nice. Our order was taken at about 7:35pm. We both ordered pasta dishes with mine being the spaghetti and meatballs, a dish I could easily compare to other restaurants I’ve visited. The server said the meatballs were very good, which got me excited to try them, but before she left the table she remembered they were out of meatballs. Seriously? Ug . Ok, I ordered the Portabella Ravioli ($29) dish, wife ordered Penne Gorgonzola ($21). We finally received our food at 8:05pm, after a couple of apologies for it taking so long etc. Obviously by this time we were both irritated and disappointed. The food was good, not great, but maybe by that time our taste was tainted. My wife’s was a bit pungent (her words) and mine was a bit salty. Like I mentioned before, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. If not for these two positives I would have given the restaurant a lower score than 3 stars. The two pasta dishes and one beer (no appetizer, no other drinks, no dessert) were about $70 with tax and tip. This restaurant is not inexpensive and I’m only mentioning this because if everything else had been ok the prices would have been OK in these days of high inflation. I wish our experience had been better, we both really wanted it to be. But what’s the point of a reservation if you have to wait a half hour to be seated and another half hour plus for food?

A gastronomic delight! If you are used to eating to fill your stomach, be prepared to eat to savor the taste of the restaurant's menu. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent food! Excellent service and ambiance is exactly what you would expect in Strawberry, AZ, lodgy and relaxing. Make a reservation. If nothing else, sit at the bar and have a handcrafted cocktail and delicious apps while you wait for a table. We will definitely be back.

Amazing! We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary here and it was wonderful. Our first time here and it is such a wonderful addition to Strawberry! The food was fantastic and the staff was so kind and wonderful. The restaurant is cozy and romantic. We were up for the week from Phoenix and this honestly rivals Italian places down in the valley. 10/10 recommend!!

This is a restaurant, not a lodge. The food is fantastic but expensive. Go for the vibes, it's dark, moody, romantic. The pasta dishes are excellent. The side salad is terrible and cheap.I wish the business would post their hours on Google, Facebook, or literally anywhere online. I *think* they are open Thurs-Sun but don't take my word for it.Reservations highly recommended.

We went for my birthday on the 2nd of December. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. This building had been there for seems like 50 years or more and had gone through numerous changes over time. The current changes are well done with a very pleasing relaxing ambiance, loved the wood and stone. It also has a nice looking small bar that you could sit at. They also have a large outdoor patio and grass yard that would be perfect for various functions. The menu ( all Italian dishes ) had I thought, the right amount of selections so you should be able to find something appealing. Price point was good. Our food was excellent our service was very good. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and cheerfully answered any questions. A matter of fact all the staff we encountered were pleasant. We definitely will return here.
