I only give 1 star because there is not an option for zero. Just imagine a skillet with Mac and cheese with BBQ burnt ends. How could you go wrong? Now imagine a skillet that is not sizzling, Mac and cheese soup from a box, and BBQ frozen from last year over cooked and dried out!!! There was no cheese love on this $18 skillet at all! I was taking my mom out for her birthday and just to be courteous she picked around it. But when she could not chew the meat and spit it out I had to say something. Called the manager over. The nastiest, most job hating human I ever met!! She acted like I woke up and went to Denny's to look at her smirky face to haggle to try to get a free meal! Isn't your job t listen and not be defensive and not try to one up me. She was so satisfied with herself engaging in an argument with me like the company was going to give her an award for not replacing my meal!! It's too bad Denny's can't get someone else to properly represent their company

On Wednesday, July 30, my niece and I visited the Denny’s on Bell Road and 164th Avenue in Surprise, AZ. It was my first time at this location, as I recently moved to the area. I’ve had positive experiences at other Denny’s in Phoenix—even when they were short-staffed, the employees remained friendly and professional. Unfortunately, this visit was different. The manager, Lydia, publicly reprimanded a male employee in front of staff and customers, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Her tone and body language were unprofessional, and the rest of the staff looked uneasy, trying to stay out of it they acted intimidated Shortly after, the employee left, though it wasn’t clear if he was dismissed or just ending his shift.

Despite the tension, the young man who rang us up was kind and personable. His friendly attitude offered a brief moment of relief, and we thanked him for his service. As we were checking out, the manager suddenly appeared and asked if there was a problem, even though there hadn’t been any interaction with her. Honestly, the negativity she brought to the environment made the entire experience unpleasant. Everywhere she walked throughout the restaurant her demeanor was negative never once did I see a smile or a positive outlook from her. Employees should be treated with respect, especially in front of customers who come in expecting a welcoming and positive atmosphere.

My aunt and I recently visited Denny’s on 16487 W Bell Rd Surprise, AZ 85374
for breakfast, and while our meal started off well, the experience quickly changed due to the unprofessional behavior of the manager on duty, Lydia. During our meal, we witnessed her speaking very rudely to an employee in front of the entire restaurant. Her body language and facial expressions were harsh, and instead of handling the matter privately, she chose to speak loudly enough for guests to hear. Shortly after, the employee either ended his shift or left, and the whole situation left us feeling uncomfortable.

When we went to check out, Lydia continued to act inappropriately. She stood nearby, watching us while talking to others, and only approached after we shared a light conversation with the friendly cashier. She asked if there was a problem, but her tone and smirk came off as confrontational rather than caring. Although I simply said we were fine, I left feeling disappointed. It’s unfortunate to see a manager treat employees and guests this way. If anything, Lydia is the one who could benefit from retraining on professionalism and respectful communication.

Awful service. Ordered chicken tenders and fries, server asked if I wanted any sauces, I said ranch and bbq. Server came to our table and refilled water with no ice, we had to ask for refills constantly and they had 5 people in there total. Server brought the check, and charged me for the sauces. They never told me. I then addressed it with the cashier, who was our Server and she said because I ate it, she had to keep it on there. I asked for the manager (no actual manager) just the one on duty, and he said he couldn't take it off. I told him she should have told me it was an extra charge. I paid for it and left...ill be calling and asking to speak to the actual manager.
