Drove over 22 miles to get some Puerto Rican food and was not disappointed! So happy I bought a dozen frozen pasteles; they were not on the menu but available for purchase. They reminded me so much of back home, Just what I needed around this holiday time and being away from my fam. Thank you, Pete, for bringing La Isla to Phoenix!! Can't wait to stop by again!!!

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would...don't even think about running away when you realize it's not traditional Mexican food, you will be glad you stayed! Everyone is warm and friendly. They have a full bar, comfortable seating, a great patio and their food is authentic and clearly put together with love and appreciation for flavor.We started out sharing one pappas, an empanada (the spinach and cheese, but there were other options) and a plantain stuffed with beef and other deliciousness. Then we wandered out to the patio and decided to eat out there as it was a perfect place to enjoy the warm evening weather. The appetizers were so good we decided to order another round and then split a burger with fries, which were great!

Good food, great service. Definitely planning another date there. Husband had the sandwich and said it was amazing. I had shredded pork with black beans and red rice. We also shared fried plantains and the papas.

Good food, but never opened they got an location next to albertsons but it’s food truck service… not an fully operated restaurant i wish they would open the place like an regular restaurant.. also reading the reviews how the owner responds to some customers is crazy no professionalism.

Puerto Rican Pete's catered an event and OMG it was heaven. Pete and Melinda were such kind people. As a Puerto Rican, I have a hard time finding authentic PR cuisine in AZ and I'm so happy I discovered Pete's. 100% authentic. It tastes like home. Everything on the menu was amazing. I'm definitely going to be a regular from now on.
