My husband and I went out for Valentine’s Day, spent $200 for a deposit, sat around for 45 minutes before we even got to ask for water and then put our whole order in. We watched multiple tables up and leave because of the wait. We never received our second course. Our waitress, once aware of our wait was great at trying to accommodate us. But this did sour our night, as we had plans and had to adjust due to spending over 2.5 hours at the restaurant.

I booked Café Boa in Tempe for Valentine’s Day through the Amex Resy benefit, expecting something special. I’d enjoyed it in the past, so I prepaid $200 for their prefixed menu. Unfortunately, it was anything but special. We were seated early on the patio, but waited over 40 minutes without anyone even acknowledging us. I had to go to the host stand just to get a server. Even after ordering drinks and appetizers, we sat for another 20 minutes with nothing. I approached the staff again, and it wasn’t until we were about to leave that a defeated manager appeared. The apology felt hollow, and despite refunding the Resy charge, the entire experience was ruined. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. If you’re considering Café Boa for a special occasion, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere

Amazing and unique dishes that were full of flavor. Exquisite craft cocktails that were beautiful and tasty, and great wine choices. We were there on the night when they had a very nice jazz band. We had a wonderful dinner there!

Service and the ambience is excellent. We really enjoyed the Voodoo Pasta and Crème Caramel. I highly recommend trying these two dishes at Caffe Boa for dinner. We liked the other two dishes too, The Polenta in the tiger prawn dish was great and the Italian ‘Scrippelle quantity is a bit less but tastes good.
They even got our pet a bowl of water and she really had a good time.

This was an amazing experience! Our server was Ava and they were very kind, attentive and welcoming! The food was delicious and wine was perfectly paired with the entrees.

Visiting from out of town and a relative recommended this place. He and I had a great small bites dinner with the ceviche, calamari, street corn and salad. All had great flavors and were well apportioned! Outdoor seating was really nice for the fresh air, but also under a heating lamp for a comfortable dining temperature. First introduction to Rakija and I loved it! Had a flight of three and the server made an excellent recommendation. If I lived in Phoenix or Tempe, would definitely be a regular.

This place is overrated and not nearly worth the price. Ordered the soup of the day which the waiter forgot so I didn’t get to try it. For my meal I ordered the salmon special. Ice spice piece but undercooked, wayyyyy too much oil and literally zero seasoning. The blandest salmon I’ve ever had. I also ordered the lyonnaise potatoes. They came out in a cube like it was cut from a huge pan. For a lyonnaise potatoes I pound maybe 3 tiny pieces a of potato and a large amount of bread. Yes bread. It was more like a thanksgiving stuffing than a potato dish of any sort. No where on the menu does it say bread as an ingredient!! Forget I try to limit my gluten intake but this dish could cause serious harm for someone with celiac. Irresponsible of the restaurant. Anyway if you’re in Tempe skip this place.

Went with a group from work on a Tuesday around 6 p.m. We walked there, and access is very easy if you’re in the area. The place was busy, but since we had a reservation, there was no wait.
I had a Boulevardier, which was well made. For food, I ordered the scallops with rice. The scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly. The rice was good, though a bit too buttery for my taste.
We initially sat near the bar and later moved to a more private area, which was a nice change. Great atmosphere overall. Very solid experience and a place I’d return to.
