Was visiting in Tempe and wanted chicken so we were google places and being from the Midwest and seeing the food pictures it doesn't look good but I must admit it was actually good and the pictures doesn't do the food justice. Well seasoned and cooked. I got the mild sauce on the side and it paired well with both the chicken and fries.The only 2 downsides for me was you can't sit in there an eat which isn't too big of a deal because we can eat in the car. The other was the kool-aid wasn't that good.Will go back when in the area.

Not a "tables and chairs" dine-in spot but they do have stools lined against the wall for a quick lunch break/meal. The wait time is roughly 15 minutes, and the combo does not come with a drink, ketchup, or napkins in case those details are important for you to note.

Update: Rating downgraded to a 2 because they aren't open when they say. Today is Tuesday at 5:41pm and they are closed and customers are here. They have new hours posted on door and evidently staff was not informed. This is very unprofessional for a busy good food or not. It's inconvenient to customers.Old post: They have really improved on customer service a lot and the fish and wings are still the best around for me, minus the tiny cup of coleslaw they give.

The website shows a sample platter that includes 3 wings, fish, sample okra (which is what I really wanted), coleslaw and something else. We get to the location in Tempe, and see that there is only benches facing wall and window and stools (about 8 total). Went to order and found out they did not have the platter or okra. Ordered 2 wing meal, 10 wing meal, small fish plate and 2 kool-aids. The chicken was alright-nothing too great or fascinating about them, the fries were ok. The Kool-aid was too sweet and fish was too salty. All of this came at a price of $49. Also was told it would take 20 minutes, and waited 35 minutes. You can get a better deal at Churches or Popeyes and have better choices for sides and more flavorful chicken.

It was nice to get whole wings like back home in Michigan. Thought the lemon pepper would be like Captain Jay’s but it’s not. Was still good just not everything I had hoped for. Service was great and food was quick and hot.

They are just ok. Sometimes, the good is amazing, and sometimes it's not. It's a hit or a miss with them, depending on who is cooking. They messed up my order and acted like they were doing me a favor by fixing it. ? like really . I haven't been back. We used to eat here once a week but we go elsewhere now bc you never know if it's going to be great or a flop! Take your chances maybe you will get lucky and it's a hit!
Catfish Fries were straight 5/10 but compliments the mealShrimpEnjoyed it all. I highly recommend. Will come back again. Ustomer service was Great!

tried to call their phone multiple times and they never answer. I came there at 9:20pm on a Saturday . on the site and google closing hours are 10pm. when I arrived at 9:20pm the doors were locked and a girl was mopping. Through the glass she said they are closed. very unprofessional to close before closing time and never answer the phone.

Born/raised/and residing in Chi-town, Harold's Chicken and Uncle Remus are THE staples of South/West siders.But let me state here for the record, THEY better watch out. The food at Chicago's Chicken Shack was/is fresh, seasoned to perfection, hot, perfect wing-size, with hot-and-tasty fries & perfect portion and TASTE of cole-slaw!!AND let me not forget the Kool-aid option (rotating daily), which on this day was grape (my absolute favorite).Thank you to the founders/proprietors of this establishment. Your customer service and live for deliving a great dining experience was felt with every bite me and my Mother had. I wasn't aware of your existence at home in Chicago, and now that I do you have a loyal customer - for life?????? #Chicago #Chi-town #Love

Came here for the first time and the food was smackalicious. The fella taking my order had great hospitality and even went as far as hooking me up with some smackalicious blue raspberry koolaid. Will definitely be spinning the block again.

This is the 2nd time in a week I have tried to catch this business before it’s so called closing hours at 9pm I have came at 8:12 and 8:23 and both times the business has been closed do y’all close at 8 or 9 I have drove all the way from the west valley and the hours are never consistent very Inconsiderate and unprofessional the young man at the corner acts as of this job is to much for him if that’s the case hire some help ain’t this point and time chicago chicken shack owe me a gas card it’s hard to support small business because I can guarantee Popeyes is still open at 8:59 if they close at 9! I will never return here to much of a guessing game and the customer service has declined
