About the only thing worth the price was the wood fired quesadilla. Carnitas tacos tasted good, but not enough for three to be worth $24. Chicken mole was just about burnt through, tasted like charcoal, for $36. Service was great, at least.

Maria is incredible! We had the best time. The cocktails were boozy but also balanced and the rajas, chicharrones, and quesadilla were fantastic.

Cocina Chiwa is an absolute gem and dare I say, I enjoyed more than sister restaurant, Bacanora.
Every bite here is bursting with flavor and creativity. We started with the elote corn, and wow — it was smoky, creamy, and perfectly charred. One of the best I’ve had. The burrata salad was a surprising standout — the combo of velvety burrata with roasted squash and sweet potatoes was both comforting and refreshing.
The carnitas tacos were Juicy, tender pork with bold seasoning, nestled in warm blue corn tortillas...3 of them.. So simple, so perfect. They hit all the right notes.
Vibe? Chill, stylish, and full of good energy. Service? Friendly and fast. Cocina Chiwa has that magic mix of great food, great people, and great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
Really cool place! We sat at the bar and had a few drinks. Bartenders were friendly and the choice of music they were playing was awesome! (Loved all the old latin songs) We shared their carnitas plate which was okay we found the carnitas a bit too dry and $25 for only 3 small tacos was not worth it but other than that we had a great time. 👍🏻

What was supposed to be a night of celebration did not end well for my party. My family and friends had planned a birthday celebration for an individual and we had reached out weeks in advance to discuss our large party size. We were not met with any common courtesy with this. We left voicemails, emails and called multiple times with no response. When we had arrived, they were not accommodating or welcoming and unfortunately forced us to turn away some family members from the party. Next, upon arrival of other parties they were much more accommodating for them and it did make us feel unwelcomed and unfortunately discriminated as the other parties were not the same color as us. We had to ask the other parties and they were much more friendly and respectful than the staff and even the manager was annoyed as we had to provide our own customer service. Next, we missed drinks, food and unfortunately the food was underwhelming and not worth the price. Finally, upon receiving our checks we were quick to realize we were over charged on several items and the price was not reflected in the menu. For instance, we ordered 6 quesadillas at the same time but 5 were charged $15 and 1 was charged at $25 with no explanation. There was discrepancies in the price of drinks as some drinks were charged additional fees even though drinks were order together and with the same base alcohol. We had high expectations for this establishment but it failed in every way. I would advise to steer clear.

Absolutely blown away by Cocina Chiwas—this place is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold, authentic, beautifully executed Mexican cuisine with Sonoran and Chihuahuan roots. From the moment we walked in, the service was flawless—attentive, warm, and perfectly paced.
Every dish was a standout. The oysters were fresh and briny, the burrata was creamy perfection, and the Caesar salad—wow. I’ve never seen one so massive or so flavorful, with the perfect crunch and just the right kick. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the carnitas tacos were rich and deeply satisfying, and the chile relleno had that ideal balance of spice, smoke, and softness. And then there was the chicken mole—an absolute knockout. Deep, complex, and unforgettable.
Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully balanced. We couldn’t stop talking about the food all night. Cocina Chiwas nails it—top-tier flavors, stunning presentation, and heart in every bite. Can’t wait to come back!

My aunty, mom, and I ate here and I feel
Like the food is not that great for how expensive it is. Service was not the best either. We had high hopes and weee excited to eat here but it really was disappointing
This restaurant was out of diet sodas, iced tea, shrimp, wine, and other items. I was embarrassed that our colleagues from our of state had to experience the lack of inventory this restaurant had on this particular evening.

Absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and I pretty much danced and sang to every song in my seat. The valentine's day menu was exceptional. Arriba Chihuahua! Cheers to Armando who came over to chat with us before we left. We will be back!
Parking: They had guest parking available on the day we visited.
Kid-friendliness: I would recommend this as an adult night out or date night.
