El Jefe Tacos & Sushi - Tempe

Food was exceptionally flavorful and seasoned well. We ordered the ramen, tacos, and the Phoenix roll. We went to here as they were one of the late night spots still open.
*This along with a hibiscus drink (large) and a cola! Approximately 50$. *

Service was simple, kind, order at the register- type of spot.

Ambiance wasn't busy for a Sunday night but the vibes were there, and I can imagine they get busy and can handle a lot with the seating options they have.

El jefe tacos has always been my favorite, I love the variety of food the taste and the cakes!!! I highly recommend it specially the customer service Sergio, Santiago omg I spaced out his name it starts with S …was very accommodating and very knowledgeable and great customer support via phone! I usually go in person this time I uber eats it, and he made sure he met my requests as needed. Thank you oh and spend a little more to get that 🔥 🌶️ salsa habanera very delicious 🤤 delicious 😋

Few months ago, while down with COVID I had a food delivery from this restaurant that was amazing. Today I realized I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped in to order take out.
Friendly staff, nice open floor space. Very clean. The young man at the counter politely explained the menu and answered all my questions.

I ordered four speciality soft tacos, two side along with chips and salsa. We had four different sauces and sauces. Total before tip was $28.00 for three people. Amazing value!

Food was excellent. One of the best grilled shrimp tacos I've had. Everything was seasoned well, not too spicy but lots of menu options to increase the heat. If spice is your thing. I love flavorful Mexican food that doesn't burn. Our dinner was perfect.

We didn't try the sushi, but that will be our next adventure.

On a final note, as I waited for my order (not long at all) I watched fully 15 different delivery drivers come in to pick up food orders. This place clearly has a following!

I do Uber eats and I came here for a pickup and the girl giving the food was awful. I came here to pickup and instead of giving me the food, she just became unhinged and wanted to argue with me. For no reason! Just because I said I wanted the food, she threw a fit and it was embarrassing. She just told me to cancel the order and that she wouldn’t be giving me the food. I just walked out. Terrible customer service. I think this is the same girl with glasses that works at the front. I never tried the food so idk how it tastes but the girl was terrible. I wouldn’t even spend my $ here N I no longer do pickups from this place. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Do order from this place and save yourself the $.

love this place!! super chill environment/vibe and the food was really fresh and tasty. sushi was really good, which was surprising as tacos/sushi seems like such a random combo, but they do it great! santi was very kind and accommodating ☺️

I ordered nachos with carne asada through DoorDash and they did not have the carne asada. I just got chips and the rest of the condiments. Very disappointing.

I have ordered the 4 street taco plate about a dozen times throughout this year and I LOVE IT!! By a wide margin, the most delicious tacos I've ever eaten in my life! The salsa they give you is tasty but what really sets them off is the creamy guacamole that comes with them! That guacamole is so good, my mouth starts watering when I think about it. I don't have the vocabulary to properly describe how good this dish is! One of these days I'll start working through the rest of the menu but even if they only sold the street tacos, it's enough for me!

Ashley was super nice behind the counter, all the workers were amazing, and the food was good enough we had to come back again and try more new things! Bonus it's open up late so for late night workers like me and my partner its a favorite. Worth the drive out!

The breakfast burritos are delicious and hearty. There was a gentlemen working who couldn’t stop dropping the F bomb while talking to the gal working but the food gives this place a 5 star review.

The staff are so comforting and welcoming. And the food!!! I’m quite picky about street tacos and rarely order them from restaurants… but these, completely worth it— so tasty and fresh! Highly recommend!
