I love the themed environment and concept. That’s where it stopped for me. I brought a party of seven here for a business dinner.
Our server was Kelly, she was less than mediocre. She repeated every order made back to us, I expect this from a diner, not “fine dining”.
We ordered five apps, the tartare was forgotten until our entrees were delivered. I had to flag down waitstaff five minutes after dinner plates went down to get serving utensils for the sides. I ordered a tomahawk for the table that was poorly seasoned and highly charred. Not a terrible experience, just disappointing for all the hype.
If the pricing were 15% lower, I’d be inclined to accept that’s the level of quality we received.

Michelin Star incoming. I said what I said. When the Michelin Guide finally realizes Arizona exists, Filthy Animal is getting drafted first round!

Chef Rene Vargas is either a genius or legally insane (in the best way). The food here had me questioning reality. I was out here apologizing to plates before I destroyed them.

Highlights:
• Pineapple tuna ceviche = melt city
• Pibil dumplings = edible artwork
• That mozzarella stick thing = quite literally the greatest bite of food I’ve ever had. I saw God. He winked.

For mains, I got the bone-in ribeye cooked like it had something to prove. My lady had the lemongrass chicken which was so juicy it could solve world peace. Then we shared the spicy lobster mac and stared silently at each other like, “Are we okay??”

Our server Levi has psychic powers. Nostradamus level powers. She brought stuff before we even knew we needed it. If she told me to invest in Bitcoin again, I’d do it. 😂

Best dinner I’ve had in my LIFE.
Also, ask about the speakeasy in the back called Drop Dead Gorgeous. You’re welcome.

🖤 10/10 would ruin these plates again. Thank you Rene, Levi and the rest of the Filthy Animal staff for making a night I’ll never forget.

Had quite a mixed experience tonight. Food was very good - table had steak, pork chop, risotto. Dumplings and a sushi-like starter. Service was very slow & missed items. I told the waiter I was not pleased, and they went above and beyond to make it right. Offered something complementary and I declined. Sincere apologies from the waiter and manager. Appreciated it and will give them a second chance.

We had a large party on 9/27 at 6:15pm. I can’t remember our servers name possibly Noah? He did an excellent job managing our drink orders and was kind. The food was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful and we had a private dining room to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Thank you to Tiffany who helped us book our event!

Loved the vibe in this place! It was the perfect spot for a girls night out after work. Servers were awesome. Drink was fresh delicious, it was a cilantro French 75. Broccoli and Brie weren’t my favorite, but they were pretty good. Blackberry chocolate ganache was the best part, don’t skip on it!!

My wife and I went here on a Saturday night and asked if their was room at the bar to sit, the host said no their wasn’t, I then asked if we could be placed on the waitlist and she said we couldn’t theres nothing open. The people before us and after us were placed on the waitlist. I was a little embarrassed and didn’t want to argue but definitely had a bad experience.

How does Tempe get this kind of amazing gem in their backyard? The cocktails are incredible and Mikey is a bartender extraordinaire. Jealous that my California hometown doesn't have one of these.

We went for our anniversary and had reservations on the patio. Even with reservations, we had to wait for over 10 minutes to be seated and neither the restaurant nor the patio were full. Our server was very attentive and guided us on menu items. The Japanese milk bread is very good but could use more Kalamata olives on top. The shishito Caesar salad was fantastic as was my short rib. My husband's NY steak was just okay....good cut of meat but definitely lacking in seasoning. For that price, we expected more. We declined the dessert menu and since we put in our reservation that it was our anniversary, our server brought out 2 glasses of prosecco. Since we did not ask for them, I just assumed that they would both be comped. After we got home, I noticed that we were charged for one glass of prosecco...seems pretty lame since we did not ask for it.

Amazing experience! The vibe is so on point and on theme. Even though it’s close to ASU, it doesn’t feel like a college spot (in a good way!). Love the open kitchen.

Food-wise, we had zero misses. Highlights were the short rib, Brie, and ice cream cake. The shishito peppers added such a unique twist to the Caesar salad. Chicken skewers were juicy - sometimes restaurant chicken is so dry - not the case here.

Get an after-dinner, drink Resy at drop dead gorgeous which is kind of speakeasy-esqe in the back of the restaurant.

Drinks were good. It's a good place to come for drinks. For how over priced the food is. It's not worth it. The quality isn't good for the price. Would not come back here for the food. Great service though
