Went there (party of two) last night for a meal of appetizers and drinks. We ordered the shrimp cocktail hoping for a chunky ceviche-type experience. The flavors were good and just the perfect kick. Our preference is a little less tomato juice and a little more of the chunky ingredients (reason for 4 on food). We also ordered the Queso Fundido. Very good flavors. Love the chorizo and the homemade corn tortillas.

Cadillac marg in a small glass...$19 (yikes!). Good but maybe not worth that price.

Service was excellent.

Downsides on this restaurant in general is how loud it is inside (reason for 3 of atmosphere) and how challenging to park(nothing they can do about parking).

Whoever owns this corner has put wayyyy too many busy restaurants in place for the amount of parking. So, if you want to come here arrive early as the restaurant is popular and they do not take reservations.

I definitely think overall the food is worth it and we will come back.

I ordered the esquite appetizer, potato tacos and lavender lemonade. The bartenders first off were amazing and saved the experience. Esquite was covered in a melted cheese instead of cotija. Not my fav and wouldn’t order again. I ended up peeling back the cheese and eating everything under. It also gave a faint taste of metal, not sure if it was the cast iron it was served in or if they are using metal brush to clean. But metal esquite is not what i was looking for. The potato tacos were decent. Very messy to eat but presentation and flavors were there. No idea how this place has a 4.5 rating. I would give it a 4 at best. If you like americanized mexican food this is your place, if you’re looking for bold flavors and well cultivated modernized mexican food, go somewhere else

The food was flavorless, the portions were great and the staff was very friendly but I paid almost $50 for my food and barely ate it.

Had high hopes from other reviews and recommendations, but was disappointed: empty tables during a long wait, food before silverware, long time to get drinks, quality and flavor of food being ok and not hot, very little attention to service, etc. The menu, however, remains unique and interesting and full of promise. Perhaps, it was an off night, or popularity has replaced quality and excellence with quantity.

Below average, uninspired food in a cute setting. Nice staff. Minimal GF options, which is pretty unusual for a Mexican place. Terrible parking on busy days, competing with Postino next door and reserved spots for businesses in the center.

Dietary restrictions: All they recommend for GF folks is the chilaquiles. It is unclear why the salads are not GF? The menu is very inconsistent with labeling. Chips should be corn (GF) but server said they're flour. Look elsewhere for Mexican food if you are GF

Meh. The food was not hitting the spot. I’m from New Mexico so I know true New Mexican cuisine and this was far from it. Everything was pretty bland. The margaritas were spicier than the food and salsa. My favorite was the pineapple margarita! It was pretty spicy but of so good. I do love the ambience of this place. The parking lot not so much. Since this was my second time here and the food didn’t really impress me. I probably won’t return unless it’s for happy hour.

The place was clean. Food was bland for all the hype. We ordered as one of our meals a hamburger well done. Came out rare. By the time it was fixed, everyone was already done with their meals.

Got the steak tacos. Not bad but they were overcooked and chewy. Everything else was great

The server was extraordinary. She really knew the menu from a personal standpoint, and had strong recommendations. The presentation of the food was nice and it arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the food chiles rellenos and queso fundido wirh chorizo had insuffucient sea salt, herbs or spices to bring out the flavors. It was all clearly fresh, so I will return to try it again, but I'll ask the chef two seasoned as she or he would like it. We had an 11:15 AM lunch on a weekday, so the service was speedy and the food came out quickly.

Vegetarian options: The iced tea was fresh.

The chile rellenos were the stand out, and available as gluten free. The short rib fell off the bone which was nice, but not quite the flavor I was hoping for it to have. I would recommend skipping the pasta here as the flavor lacked luster. I would come back if I was in the area again, but only for the chile rellenos.

Dietary restrictions: Several options available as gluten free with modifications. They have a shared frier, so cross contamination was possible on anything fried.

I went here for my birthday. The service was good, the atmosphere was good, drinks were good but I didn't love the food. I was very disappointed with the chilie relleno. The pureed mushrooms inside did a disservice to the dish overall, it made it so everything was the same consistency which was mushy all around. I'm a huge mushroom fan so getting pulverized mushrooms was a sad experience, the texture of mushrooms should be celebrated and they were not. I think the cheese was blended with the mushrooms so the two became one and it made those ingredients get lost within the moosh and lose their interest. It was mushy, lacking in flavor, and under whelming because it came with nothing else, just two chilies in a pile of sauce for $20+, no redeeming sides, definitely not worth the price. The appetizer was the street style esquites and while it was good, I didn't love it and it wasn't what I was I was expecting. It was mostly melted cheese and creme with a little bit of corn so again I don't think they were celebrating the main ingredient. It had one note to the favor profile so somewhat bland. It needed more corn, more cilantro, more tajin, and definitely lime, also less cheese. I actually don't think I even tasted the tajin and cilantro. There are a couple other vegetarian options so I will go back to give those a shot but I won't be reordering any of the same, wish they had more vegetarian options honestly.... One thing unrelated to the food, I think the owner should have someone address the bench seat on the east wall. There is a shelf above the bench seat so you can't actually sit back comfortably, it is such a frustrating design. The back upholstery needs to be bumped out so it sits flush with the shelf so the back cushions can actually be utilized for their intended purpose. I know this all seems very critical, I really did want to love this place. I will give it another chance and will update after my next experience.

Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, they seem to be heavy on the dairy. One or two vegan options.
