While planning my trip to Phoenix, Arizona, I kept hearing rave reviews about Lush Cafe, and the TikTok videos made it seem like such a vibrant spot. However, my experience didn’t quite match the hype. My partner and I decided to check out their R&B karaoke night. I had called ahead to confirm the kitchen hours, as they offered some intriguing menu items like lamb chops and Rasta pasta, which were on the pricier side but still tempting since we were on vacation. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. We sat for about 15-20 minutes without being greeted, and no one seemed to notice we were there. Eventually, a server acknowledged our presence and mentioned she’d find someone to take our order. Another 10 minutes passed, and when I looked around to see what was going on, the same server made eye contact and seemed surprised that we hadn’t been helped. A few more minutes went by before a gentleman came to ask if we’d been assisted. I explained we hadn’t, and he left to "find our server"—only to return moments later and reveal that he was, in fact, the server. He took our drink order, but unfortunately, none of the drinks we wanted were available. I settled for a glass of wine, and we proceeded to place our food order. After another pause, he returned to inform us that the kitchen had closed and they were only serving fried food. This was frustrating because I had called earlier to confirm the kitchen closed at 10 PM, and we arrived at 8:50 PM. However, since we didn’t receive service until about 9:15 PM, we missed the regular menu cutoff, which was 9:00 PM. It would have been helpful if the person who answered the phone had clarified this detail to prevent the confusion. We ended up leaving immediately, extremely frustrated. On the plus side, the karaoke was fun, and the performers were incredibly talented, so the vibe was still enjoyable for the 20 minutes or so that we did stay. However, given the lack of service and the food situation, I’m not sure I’d return to try the food again. There are plenty of other places that offer better service, more affordable options, and probably the same quality food if not better.
Was visiting Arizona from North Carolina and drove nearly 30 minutes from Scottsdale to try this place after seeing it on TikTok because I always try and support Black-owned businesses. But, unfortunately, this business lived up to the negative stereotypes surrounding black businesses. Google had their hours listed as closing at 5pm; however, when we arrived at 3:25pm the place was black, chairs were already stacked on tables and the girl at the door said “oh we close at 4pm.” Even if that were the case, why were chairs stacked and lights out by 3:20pm? Smh. Do better.
Charging $25 a drink was too expensive considering the fact you don’t have a place to sit unless you try to book a seat, which is impossible, because the booking site claims that all seats are booked. In reality the seats aren’t booked. The atmosphere was okay and the music was fine. But not worth the cover charge and the cost for drinks. They automatically charge you gratuity on your bill, but they never give you an itemized receipt, so you don’t know what you have paid for in the end.

What a great spot! I came here on a Tuesday night for a meet up, I was the only one that showed but I decided to stay for some grub and I'm glad I did! The food and drinks were incredible, the staff was attentive and kind and so friendly, the saxophone player set the mood... I wish y'all were closer to my home but I can't wait to make a return trip

Had Ladies night here for the first time this past Saturday & it was an amazing time , experience, vibe. Just Everything ! Absolutely love the fact it's 30+ only, loved the menu and drink creativity . The live performance was soooooo good! Food was so delicious! Even just the music they play before the live performers. We will definitely be back again. I can't wait to try the brunch ! And check out RnB Karaoke!

Went to a poetic soul event. Ordered cauliflower wings, and French fries with a Jameson and ginger ale,—-my bill came up to 80.
Definitely won’t come here again
This was my first time visiting this beautiful establishment to attend the Gospel Brunch & it won't be the last. The atmosphere is absolutely A-MAZING, staff very friendly & professional. I tried the fried chicken & red velvet waffles w/ a 🍓 Mimosa OMG a perfect 10 made to perfection! 👌🏾 The restrooms are very clean & well kept. Last but not least the Gospel Brunch from 12-3pm was awesome, I felt like I was at a concert! I don't know any other way to explain the experience other than it was Powerful & I'm looking forward to Returning!!

Was hoping to give the place a 5 star. Staff was extremely pleasant, the establishment is visually appealing, but the music was way too loud. We ordered the fried chicken and catfish, my chicken was burnt and almost tasted like it had been cooked, then recook to fill my order, not to mention it came out way too fast for fried chicken and my wife's catfish was just okay as well. We'll definitely try this place again as we have all have burned some chicken from time to time, but hopefully, our next visit will be what we expected this first visit to be.

Lush Cafe and Lounge is a V I B E!!! The customer service and food were top tier. My friend and I intended to eat our meal, have a drink and leave. Chile, we were there for our ENTIRE 90 minutes and ordered up the place. If you’re going, request Tye as your server, she was amazing, hilarious and was the best dancer on staff haha. Yates and DJ Biz International know how to get the party started. They had every table dancing and singing on Sing-a-Along Sunday lol Thanks to Lewis for checking in on us when our girl was busy. We appreciate the hospitality overall and we indeed will be back again and again. Y’all better get on over there and have a good time!
