Although I do have a member card this is not a grocery store that I frequent often. The items they sell are fine and its clean I just don't find they offer some of the more specialty items that I typically gravitate towards.

I highly recommend the safeway pharmacy and this store. It's my new go to place to shop. It's not too crowded and everything is in stock. Pharmacy doesn't lose your order like Walgreens.

I only recently began going to this location. The one I normally would go to doesn't have self checkout. I have a tendency to do any grocery shopping late evening or late at night when there are maybe 2 checkouts open and long lines of people like me shopping late. As soon as I saw the self checkout and how clean and organized this store is I knew I had found my new store. Grocery shopping for me is like getting teeth pulled, I don't want to do it but I have no choice. There's nothing like standing in line with minimal items and standing in line longer than it took to shop, therefore self checkout is my favored option. I also like Safeway delivery sometimes, they've always done a great job for me.

Start to finish watched 2 cashiers embarrass a customer over the wrong price, the cited "past" experiences and said for him to leave, all he did was say his salad was over priced, they CAUSED a scene, OVER reacted and you could tell the male cashier was acting stressed over nothing, the guy simply was rude and angry at this guy who was just saying "the salad is 99 cents on Just for you" even showed him on the app. I was right behind the customer and this cashier CAUSED it all.

The speed of a checkout lane can really impact how I feel about a grocery store, I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I will say for never having more than four lanes open at any given time this Safeway doesn't really have you waiting long to checkout. The produce is solid, no issues whatsoever there. I've also enjoyed my experience at the deli, bakery and meat counters. Employees here also seem to enjoy what they do because they are generally very pleasant. I grew up going to Vons/Safeway so I definitely appreciate living so close to this Tempe location. I come here very often and find the prices justify the quality of the items I'm buying - sure I could spend less for similar things at Fry's but then I'd have to deal with the people at Fry's. This Safeway is second to the Safeway on 48th and Indian School in Arcadia to me, but a solid grocery store nonetheless.

You advertise Snuggle Fabric softener for $3.99for150oz. but when I went several times you never had any. I was given a rain check on 4/1/19 I have been to 7 stores none on shelf. I visited your store again where I was told it sold out so fast we cant get any from the manufacture . Hm them why does Walmart, Fry's have it in stock. I am very disappointed in your excuses I think you realized what a mistake YOU made and you are just not stocking until you are sure no one has a valid rain check. I am sure by May 5th if I go to any Safeway I will see it on the shelf. Shame on you Safeway.

This Safeway is awesome. We have converted from Fry's shoppers to solely Safeway shoppers all due to the wonderful and friendly cashier, TK. She is kind, personable, and bubbly, making the shopping experience a pleasure.

Absolutely terrible. No baby suction no feminine hygiene section I couldn't find even body soap and there was no workers that customer service is none in the aisles and every single line was backed up into the Isles for check out so clearly they don't have enough employees

Actually less than 1 star. I live across the street from Safeway, but prefer to go to Fry's for many reasons. Today, Safeway refused to accept my Safeway coupons good until December 25th. The manager on duty stated it was for the new store in Queen Creek, even though I live in Tempe. The ad didn't say it for a new store, so why would he (and a few cashiers) claim it was for a new store. I went home and reread the ad. It actually said, "Two stores coming together to better serve Arizona". It doesn't seem that way... And after not accepting my coupons and going through three employee on the phone (one posing as the manager until I asked her her name), I finally spoke to the manager that explained many reasons why they may NOT accept valid coupons. The very last reason, he stated that the start date may be a future date. At the very bottom of the ad, it stated the start date was the 19th thru the 25th of December. So beware that unlike the coupons you receive from Fry's, Safeway and Albertsons coupons have a start date AND an end date. No wonder Fry's is always packed and although Safeway isn't packed, it takes me twice as long to purchase goods due to ghost cashiers NOT manning registers, instead they are posing as managers.

My beef with this store is that the pricing on your receipt never matches what you are supposed to pay. I believe the batting average for this is about one out of every five or six times the prices will be correct on the receipt.... And of course the wrong prices are always more then they should be. The wrong pricing that I found tonight that was also on my last receipt was for bolillo rolls. That is 2 out of the last 2 times that I have bought this item I have been overcharged...

Stopped in on my way to pick my son up from school, asked a simple question and the employees were rude and gave me smartass responses. Was even looked down upon due to how I was dressed. Won't be coming back here ever and will stick to my shopping at Frys.

3.5/5 I usually only go to Safeway for one reason. The WING BAR! For $5.99/lb. with your Club Card you can feast on as many wings as you dare. They offer a decent variety, and my absolute favorite are the salt + vinegar wings, although the inferno wings are a close second! The wings themselves are a hefty size, meaty, with a crispy coating and well seasoned. I think it comes out to a little over $.50 per bone-in wing which isn't bad at all! They offer boneless wings as well, and some other varieties I remember them selling are BBQ and Buffalo. The rest of the store has all your typical items you'd find at a grocery. Prices are competitive for sale items, while regular items can be a bit pricey. The one deal breaker for me on shopping at Safeway stores more often is that they don't have a self service check out. I find it faster and more accurate to scan and bag my own groceries. Also, when I've been through the check out here the cashier has incorrectly scanned my item (Which I don't realize until I've already left) so that I've paid more than what I wanted to for something that was supposed to be on sale or discounted.

The pharmacy staff is very nice and I appreciate that. Customer service is very important to me. The grocery is nice too and the employees are friendly.

I recently decided to give a couple other grocery stores a try for our business. This store is clean, orderly and well merchandised. BUT, the service is slow and the employees seem to have been trained to avoid eye contact with customers... I've had this experience at several Safeway locations. The last time I shopped at this location, I ended up leaving my cart and driving to a Fry's to shop. I'd been ignored and dismissed too many times in one shopping experience to want to spend my money here.
