Was craving Caldo De Res and being from El Paso and an ex wife from Juarez I have a pretty good taste for good Mexican food. El Paso is not TXmex but people not familiar with the area lump it with Texas. The soup was good and I’m waiting to go sit down. Menu looks good and thanks to Javier I tried a green chili burrito. I just had my gallbladder removed so I was looking for comfort food in the Caldo. I tasted the burrito. Just after a few small bites, I knew this was quality green chili. When I’m feeling better, I’ll go hit the spices and looking forward to some queso fundido.

Great hole in the wall place. Food was tasty chips and salsa were great. Enchiladas were good tacos good. Water does need a filtration system though. Service was good

I was there this past Monday morning 9-15-25. My food was cold and stale. Im not used to that from here. I didn't make a big deal we all have bad days. Everyone elses food was good. The taco shell was stale,beans were watery and cold. My rice was cold, meat in my taco was cold. What's up with this?

Great food, friendly staff. I'm in a wheelchair it is very accessible for me.

I saw this restaurant on Tik Tok and had to give it a try. Mainly to try the menudo. It did not disappoint. The flavors were rich. Everything I tried was delicious, and the service was excellent. So far, it’s my favorite spot for menudo in all of Arizona. So, anytime I am in the east valley I will definitely be stopping in from now on.

Dicided to come here for my birthday lunch. Waitress responded with a stone face after I smiled at her and thanked her for taking our drink and appetizer order. The store bought tortilla complimented my average tasting menudo.

Susie's serves the best authentic, traditional Mexican food and is a staple here in Tempe, Az, and has been at this location on price rd and university dr. for almost 50 years.

They raised prices which makes the price compared to the quality of food you get not worth it anymore. The portions also noticeably smaller.
No longer a lunch convenience, or a place I will go.

Small little restaurants are the best traditional Mexican food.

I have been going to Susie's for many years but, it has been couple since I've been. Went last weekend & as to be expected they were packed. No problem. When the waiter took my order, I repeated it 2x & he repeated it back. Red beef plate. I was so disappointed to get the green chili beef plate. I didn't say anything because it took 25-30mn to get our food. We got the appetizer with the meal & the chorizo fondido was cold. The cheese was one lump. The green chili beef & beans were very good but the rice was crunchy. I didn't eat more than two bites. It was quite disappointing overall & spent around $60 on lunch.
Side note: the lady, who I recognize from forever, working the register & seating people was so unpleasant. She literally has a scowl on her face, not once did I see a smile. I get working long hours can be challenging, but if you don't like what you're doing, don't do it. Do something that doesn't require customer service. She looked miserable.
