Always pleasant and friendly staff, and arguably the best hotdogs you can get in Arizona (Or at least in the top 3, for you naysayers).

I absolutely love this place!!! My grandpa took me here when I was little and have been coming back ever since. All my high school friends would eat here after school. One of the things I’m very happy I can still visit and enjoy the food from my childhood.

If you’re near McClintock and you’re craving a hot dog, may I recommend Portillo’s. DO NOT go to Ted’s unless you enjoy being confused by fast food menus and ignored by staff. If you do like those things, then you’ll love this place! And listen, I’m not here to judge you if that is what you like from your hot dog experience.

The menu is remarkably unclear, if it even works. Instead of correcting errors on the digital menu, they’ve just taped paper over the screens where the menus display? And the menus often don’t display? So they just tape 8.5 x 11 printouts of the menu along the “line,” which is not demarcated at all. If you’re a new customer at Ted’s, it’s really a guessing game about how you’re supposed to order, so good luck.

And if you want help from the staff in figuring out just what the heck you’re supposed to be doing, lol. They don’t appear to even know there are real humans inside the restaurant? They prioritize mobile orders over in-person, and have only one station fulfilling orders. It would be chill if someone would say “I’ll be right with you after I put together this mobile order,” but they don’t. They just pretend that there is not a human person standing directly in front of them. When they do finally deign to give their in-person customers attention, they just stare at you, as if you should have the menu memorized already. But delightfully, the information about free toppings available is not visible until AFTER you’ve requested all of your toppings. And you really don’t get any attention from the staff until it’s time to pay for their overpriced, very mid food.

While the service at Ted’s is exceptionally terrible, the onion rings are good because they’re skinny. That is everything good I have to say about this place.

Don’t waste your time at Ted’s.

Been driving by Ted's for years and finally decided to place an order a couple of days ago. It was so great to be able to order and quickly pick it up. It was late and the door was locked, but the staff opened up the door and gave me my order. I took a few bites before driving off and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of toppings and the real taste of chili and beef. Every bite was simple, but delicious! I love that they are right up the street. So, whenever the craving hits I will be there!

Love, love, love this place. Our first time there, however not our last.
I have to eat gluten-free (GF) and not only are there hotdogs GF, but they also have GF buns. They also change into new gloves when handling the making of the hotdog or whatever meal you get. They also charred my hotdog as I like it. Even the cashier was paying attention when I spoke about me having to eat GF.
Talk about a friendly group of
staff, and helpfull, and awesome
atmosphere. Loved the choice of music.
Wish I had gotten two hotdogs instead of one and a shake. However the shake was very good as well. And my husband liked the fries as well.
If you love hotdogs or even hamburgers, especially grilled on a charcoal grill, you will love this place.

Ted's had always been a Tempe staple for me. The food was good, especially my wife's hamburger, but my foot long hot dog was so skinny that the bum dwarfed it. In the past the foot longs were better. The onion rings were great.
Prices have gone way up in the last several years. I used to come to Ted's a lot prior to 2020 and it was a great lunchtime value, but I guess those days are long gone.
