This bar is not safe. please pay attention when ordering at the bar. The bar tenders seem to be doing a scam where they keep a credit card, saying that they returned it, hoping that the customer is too buzzed or not paying attention. If you call them on it, they kick you out saying you are drunk....at a bar. I have seen this scam before at seedy venues. it could be just the individual bartender, but the manager did back her up, which makes me think it could be systemic among staff.

Visiting for an event in Phoenix, we walked to the Tempe Tavern and enjoyed a real cold beer and a burger and fries that were to die for. I had the Western Burger and it was cooked perfectly. The fries were also delicious, tasted like homemade. The service was great but it was rather empty (granted it was a Monday night). I'm sure it's a lively atmosphere when it fills in!

Absolutely the most disgusting establishment you can go to. Mold in the bathrooms, thick layer of dust between the booths, tables are sticky, bathroom smells like sewage. Food tastes like it’s been defrosted and cooked in a microwave, I wouldn’t even feed it to a stray dog.

Each time we have came they NEVER have a server. They only worry about the people sitting at the bar and no where else. Use to be a favorite spot to go to. Was sitting there for 20minites and they didn’t even realize we were there until we walked out and then said something.
