Top of the Rock Restaurant

AMAZING experience for our 2 year anniversary! Our server Chris (I think), was phenomenal & so attentive. Gave great suggestions & brought out a surprise dessert for us. Went on a Tuesday evening at 7 and wasn't busy at all. Such a great ambience, we sat outside in a shady spot, hostess was super sweet & accommodating to whatever we wanted! Would love to come back here for another special occasion!

My husband and I were visiting Tempe on my birthday and were able to have a wonderful dinner at Top of the Rock. We both had the filet and it was outstanding! Our server Klydeh was excellent and other members of the staff were accommodating as well. We live in Indianapolis so unfortunately we won't be regulars but if I can strongly suggest a great special occasion place, Top of the Rock would be it!

Disappointing experience overall. Parking is a nightmare—tight and limited. The chicken donuts and bread were the only highlights. Unfortunately, the main dishes fell flat. The New York strip steak was smothered in what tasted like A1 sauce, completely overpowering the meat. I ordered it well done, but it came out medium well. The duck reminded me of low-quality Chinese takeout—definitely not worth the price. The mac and cheese tasted more like sour cream than actual cheese, and to top it all off, I found a hair in my truffle fries. Not coming back.

Family chose to eat here on 6/21/2025. The air conditioner was down. My sister got so overheated she felt as though she was going to pass out. Truly this made this entire experience miserable.

This was my first time at this restaurant and the food/service was very good. Unfortunately, the temperature inside the restaurant was very uncomfortable. If I could guess the temperature was probably 82 degrees if not more and it made for a less pleasurable experience. When I asked the waiter if there was anything that could be done, I was informed there was not. However, I do want to say that it was very nice of the staff to comp our desserts. I would suggest not attending this restaurant if the outside temperature is high as it will not cool off until later in the evening.

Food and service was amazing. Our server Nicole was extremely helpful and so much fun. Would definitely go back.

I wanted to love this place so badly. It's been around so long and I had high hopes but it fell short. After reading the reviews about the air conditioning issues, I was concerned. We went when the sun was still up and it was warm. Not awful but definitely uncomfortable. I feel like the heat coming off the kitchen contributed a lot. They really can't do much about it. The food was good, the salad we ordered had too much dressing so it was a bit much! The sea bass and the pork tenderloin were delightful. Our server Lisa was lovely and very attentive! To be honest, all the wait staff were great!

The service was amazing! The food and drinks were tasty and well prepared. Of course, the view was beautiful as expected. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

They have issues with their air conditioning. It was at least 80 degrees and we wanted to stay for dessert but were so uncomfortable we had to leave. I felt even worse for the wait staff with long sleeves working in those conditions. The food was amazing, views spectacular, service great but not peasant at all with the heat. The restaurant is too high a level to have an Ac thst doesn't work

The location and views were delightful. Our meal was delicious, one ordered the rib eye steak, one had the special which was the petite filet, a salmon entre, and a kids meal. All were prepared well, and the service was great. We commend the staff for the cheerfulness they exemplified. One question that our table and other tables inquired about was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was very hot in the restaurant. It had to be in the 90's in there. When we inquired about the A/C, they mentioned it was due to the design of the restaurant and windows surrounding it that radiated the heat. Once the sun sets it gets more comfortable for all. We were so uncomfortable during the meal. No amount of iced water allowed us to enjoy everything that was so pleasant. My suggestion is to either run portable evaporative coolers hours before service to cool down the restaurant and keep them on until the sun sets, or management find another solution. We were compassionate towards the staff having to wear pants and long sleeve black clothing in a hot environment. I can't even imagine how it was for the kitchen staff. We would never dine here again during the hot months because of the temperature inside the restaurant.

Took my husband there for Father's Day dinner and the food was delicious!! The service was excellent!! Lisa was our server and she was very attentive without being annoying! And the view is breathtaking!!!!

The AC must have been out because it was sweltering in the restaurant. Even the staff was fanning themselves to try to cool down. I ordered the portobello entree, but the risotto was undercooked and crunchy. The sauce and flavors were good, but the crunchy rice overpowered them. The portobello was overcooked and rubbery, making it hard to chew. My wife had the chicken, which she said was well-cooked, flavorful, and juicy. The flavors on the chicken seemed on point, but there was something odd about the dish. It said it would be served with peaches, but it came with carrots instead. Despite the portobello being overcooked, the staff was amazing. They were attentive and courteous, and they made our anniversary special.

Was able to get seating with a view, every aspect from being seated to all the individual servers, everything was fantastic for my first time visit with my spouse and baby. Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back again.

Beautiful views, and excellent service. The gnocchi was delicious! Air conditioning didn't seem to be working but overall, great experience.
