When I think Cajun, I think of bold flavors. What we got was very mild, ok food. There was live music on Friday night, but it drowned out any possibility of a conversation. Disappointing, to say the least.
Very friendly service. Good music. Great food. Went here so my daughter could try jambalaya and gumbo (to see which she likes best). Both were very good. Server was attentive but not bothersome. He noticed how much my daughter liked her garlic bread and brought her more without us even asking. Very pleased with the experience. Can't wait to go back and try more.
I had been meaning to grab some food from here for awhile but this past weekend I finally had the time to do so. After looking over the dishes I ended up ordering the Jambalaya Chicken for pick up. The order was ready when they said it was going to be and after taking a bite it brought me back to the time that I spent in New Orleans. The rice was perfectly done as was the chicken. It had just the right amount of cajun seasoning and overall was an excellent dish. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and the next time, I need to get the beignets.
Decent flavors; close to authentic. We loved their own Voodoo hot sauce! The staff was excellent despite being short staff. They suggested we come when they have live music typically Friday and Saturday evening and will sure do. ??
Definitely like going here during the late afternoon on weekdays, less crowded and less noisy. The concrete floors amplify the sound.Catfish and dirty rice is the closest to the real thing out in this area I’ve seen so far. My beautiful wife is from Louisiana and she agrees as well.
The food and service was outstanding! The atmosphere was great, the Hurricanes excellent and live music started as we were ending our meal. The fried green tomatoes were very good and the hush puppies and grits were both excellent. Everyone loved their gumbo and jambalaya and I’m still trying to figure out how baked Cajun chicken paired so well with Greek veggies and tzatziki. Beignets were very good. We got them to go and took to a coffee house to have with coffee
Great food and fantastic service! I asked our server if they sell the Voodoo Daddy shirts that the servers wear. Either they don't sell them or they didn't have any. Our fantastic server literally went in the back and changed and gave me the shirt off her back! Awesome place and fantastic servers!
Seriously, everything I've tried here is certified Cajun authentic. These meals are some of the most balanced I've ever had in all of AZ. The plate to price ratio is perfect, everything is cooked and/or chilled perfectly, the flavors are amazing. The beignets could be a little thinner (so it's not as doughy on the inside) but that's personal preference, and they still taste great. There's really nothing bad I can say about Voodoo Daddy's. I wish I'd have found them sooner!
Abdul has got to have the best attitude I've seen in a server in years! He lights up with the biggest smile when you walk in. Really makes us feel more like we're family that's come to visit from far away rather than customers at a local restaurant. Having never actually been to New Orleans, I cannot compare thie cuisine to "the real thing". However, VooDoo Pasta, the Etouffe' and the Jambalaya taste just as I fancy they would on Bourbon Street! Take an appetite!
The food and drinks were good. The live music was great but the service wasn’t the best. Don’t know if the bartender was the owner or just the bartender but he acknowledged every table but me and my friend’s. We may have looked young but we were spending our money there just like everyone else. Wasn’t too many people in there so we got our food pretty fast. The beignets were covered in powdered sugar, we barely ate them.

We ate here with 11 of us. The food wasn’t terrible yet it was nothing out of this world. I had the catfish and shrimp platter with the fried okra as a side. The shrimp I liked. Juicy and well battered. The fried okra was just ok. I honestly have had better. The catfish was seasoned decent. The coleslaw was not the business. It’s an easy dish not to eff up on it. The “Cajun” fries… nothing was Cajun about it.I don’t know if I would come back because I needed to have this in my life. However if I was in the area. I would think about stopping by if there were no other options.
The food in this restaurant is just amazing. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant and the gentleman working that served us could not have been nicer. The best dish by far was the Jambalaya which was just amazing. Our group also ordered po'bots, boudin balls, shrimp and grits, and popcorn shrimp. No one had any complaints about any of it. Will absolutely be returning.
The food was so good and the vibe was there! They had live jazz music playing and the patio was perfect for us and our dogs. Even despite the heat it felt good in the patio and our server was so kind to check on us and he even gave our pups water! I highly recommend this place!
Hubby and I stopped in for a late lunch. The service was great, the food was ok. Everything was cooked very well (the shrimp was tender, the grits were creamy and all of the food came out piping hot and fresh) but it lacked flavor. We were super disappointed that the crab cakes were imitation crab.Overall, we’re happy we tried it, but probably won’t go back.
Our first time visiting this location. Recommend by a friend. Oh my gosh the food was delicious. The staff was amazing. It was an overall great experience. The adult drinks delicious. We highly recommend you guys to try the food. The spices just umps the flavors. Looking forward to visiting Voodoo Daddy again. ❤
