Excellent service, friendly staff! Food just right after a long day outdoors: green chili, BLT on sourdough toast, fries. Too full to try the pie but it looked delicious.
Butcher Hook Restaurant and bar is always a great place. It’s a small enjoyable place to be. Food is good an the staff is awsome..
We regularly frequent the “Hook” and look forward to enjoying the friendly employees.
The place has a quaint charm and we always feel welcome.
This is our very favorite place to eat here in Tonto! I feel like they may put everyone else out of business someday. The food is great, the service is great. We love the staff! They are badasses in the restaurant business. Thanks for always having fresh pie and the generous patio out front! There are funny little plaques all over, You guys rock.

Tonto Basin-Butcher Hook Cafe is known for its down home cooking and welcoming atmosphere. The pies are totally yummy, with options like Key lime, Apple, peach, banana coconut, and berry. The prime rib and prime rib sandwich are mo better than they should be, and the burgers and fries are really good, better than normal bar food. Breakfasts are great, and lunches are too, with delicious cinnamon rolls and cookies. The red salsa is a nice surprise with meals, and the coldest beer in the basin is always ready. The staff, including waitresses and bartenders, are fun, happy, and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed and like family. The dining room is separated from the bar, so bar noise is not heard. Inside and outside seating is available, and pets are welcome on the outside patio. It is a nice place to stop when riding over Four Peaks or after a long haul on Apache trail.
