Probably the best Mexican restaurant we have ever been to! We had the grouper. We have eaten fresh grouper before in Mexico and the Bahamas. It has always been good, but this one was truly great. To start off, the tortilla chips were fresh and the salsa was awesome—very unique with just the right hint of spice. And the fish in mild salsa verde sauce was amazing! It was cooked perfectly—moist and just a little flaky. It was served with beans and rice. The servers were friendly and very attentive and they frequently refilled the water glasses and tortilla chips. We will be back whenever we’re in town.

Appetizers are great here but the service and atmosphere have declined. We dined on Saturday night. The waiters ignored us and the place was empty. Cleaning supplies were out in the dinning room so we felt like we were sitting in a storage room. There was a blurry Tv with a sports game on never have I experienced a TV in a fine dining establishment u til Saturday. So sad that every restaurant has to have a TV in it. Appetizers were amazing but the main entrees were bland. For the price I expect better service and a clean atmosphere without a TV and cleaning supplies in my view. This place has gone down hill. Better food at the Tubac market !!!

Wow, when a restaurant has a commitment to CLEAN FOOD, fresh and unadulterated and prepared in traditional manner - the results are amazing. I wish I could say more about Elvira's food, but we are currently stuck on the mole, so I can't really report on more with any authority. Oh, and watch out for the Tamarindo margarita; it could spoil you for life. Of course, if you're a local and/or a regular, none of this is news, and I would request that you take a couple of days OFF so the rest of us can get a table. If you're visiting, you would do well to try it out, if you can get in. And the service? Don't even ask; top-notch. The bartender is so knowledgeable that they might have stolen him from Le Bernardin in New York City. All of this with no pomp or circumstance. Everyone here is down-to-earth and accommodating. Maybe if we could eat here daily, we could get past the mole.
This place is magical. The food is amazing as is the atmosphere. Typically the service is great. Plan on going several time until you get through all the Mole's....It is worth it!!!

Food quality and presentation was to be expected, but overpriced by 25%. This restaurant is in Tubac, not PV.
Service was absolutely atrocious. After waiting over 20 minutes to have our waiter come to our table after we finished dinner, I decided to actually time to see how long we would have to wait to receive our check, as this establishment apparently can't hire wait staff that don't have to multi-task as the bartenders. Our wait was 24 minutes to get our check while our waiter had to make drinks as a dual role bartender and waiter.
We observed an individual who was either a manager or owner casually strolling around without offering any assistance whatsoever to help staff or patrons.
First time to Tubac, we absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, first and last time in Elvira's.
