Initially I was a fan. Later I found the food to be very average and the place was dirty

as an avid sandwich consumer, i would like to humbly announce that the 4th ave deli is in my top 5 all time sandwiches. for context, i've been on this earth for multiple decades and have experienced a multitude of different sandwiches. it was phenomenal. this is a hole in the wall kind of place, and off of first glance, you wouldn't expect the yummyness protruding from in the establishment. the wall decor is perfect and i wouldn't change a thing. the menu consists of three categories of sandwiches, which are all named after people. the "outlaws and wiseguys," "dangerous dames," and the "mob bosses." the names of the sandwiches themselves make you feel a sense of awesomeness when you delve into them. i ordered the pretty boy floyd and after one bite i was immediately rearranging my "top 5 sandwiches of all time" order. the service was quick and my order was exactly right (even with my requests). this sandwich is one of many for me, as i will definitely be returning on a weekly basis. not to mention the pickles, made in house, are the perfect deli pickle. nothing beats a sandwich and pickle combo and the 4th ave deli perfected it. no complaints, no changes to be made, pure perfection. until we meet again sandwich, howard

Vegan options GALORE! Check out the special VEGAN MENU I uploaded of their veggie stuff, and the vegan yumminess we ordered (except for the pasta salad of course - that was meaty and cheesy and also very yum! 3 bean chili had awesome flavor. Great service, cute tiny/skinny building with a couple of seating options inside and outside. Very fair pricing, and overall chill energy.

Went for the lunch special and it was very good, the food came out pretty fast and the meatball sub was warm and toasty. The hotdog bread could have been warmed up too but overall was very good

2 stars cuz the names are cute and apparently Tucson's best when it comes to deli food, but I guess that's not saying much. If you're from one of the coasts and craving Canters or Katz's, this is not gonna scratch the itch. I ordered the Meyer Lansky, and there wasn't much (sadly very lean) meat at all on the unforgivably dry rye. Not much of anything, to be honest. And unlike the sandwiches I'm used to, packed with juicy meat falling out the sides, this one basically had a border of dry toast because it wasn't even filled to the edge of the bread. On top of that, I had to go back and request the pickle they forgot to include. So for that and a small slice of cafeteria cheesecake, my bill was $20... guess I'll have to place a mail order for Katz's.

Can't beat it.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian hot dogs and sandwichesDietary restrictions: GF options include salads and lettuce wraps. You can customize all sandwiches to accommodate food preferences and allergies.Kid-friendliness: Large selection of small to large portions. kids can request small simple sandwiches like grilled cheese and PB&J or a custom hotdog. Cookie, chips and soda options as well.

Got a Sundance Kid on a Sicilian Hoagie, and it was basically a garden of some of the freshest vegetables I’ve eaten in recent memory. The copious avocado and pesto perfectly lined the toasted bread, balancing the crunch of the veggies with softness and flavor. I’m still dreaming of that sandwich several days later.Service was friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back and try another sub, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, filling meal on 4th Ave.

Went here for the first time with my friends and let me say they had the best sub I’ve tasted in my life. It was like I was reborn again. The flavor, the authenticity, the atmosphere was nothing but PERFECTION TO ME. if this place has no supporters then I’m dead. God bless it man wow will be back until all the subs are gone???‍?Vegetarian options: Also vegan options!!

Ate there on a very cold rainy day. Freezing cold in the restaurant and they would not let us close the front door of the restaurant. After eating our meals they would not let my friend use their restroom. We left to find a restroom for my friend and an employee ran outside after us yelling that we did not clear our table off. Really???
