This was such a fun place to visit. I wasn't expecting it to be as awesome as it was. The pack rat playground was so fun, and we loved all the different exhibits. It was all very well maintained and so beautiful. I had a stroller, and my mom was in a scooter and everywhere was wheelchair accessible for her. It was so great and I can't wait to go again.

Terrific educational outreach for public awareness, and environmental interests. Great quality displays, and information regarding the flora and fauna of the Arizona desert. Historical context, and informative docents added a great deal of value, and richness to the experience. Highly recommend a visit for all ages. This is a great opportunity for people to learn and appreciate what can seem like a challenging and inhospitable terrain and climate. The geological perspective was also very informative, and fascinating! Great job guys!

Wow this place is cool! Such a great mix of museum and zoo. I loved it as much as the kids!

The museum itself is absolutely amazing, one of the best I have ever been too. However, the staff/volunteers who can be found throughout the museum that give presentations lack training on how to interact with Autistic children.Multiple staff members showed prejudice towards my Autistic 7 year old. I reached out to the museum directly to bring this issue to their attention and haven’t received a response. In the future, I would like the museum to take steps in educating its staff on Autism and ensure that it is an inclusive environment for children with disabilities.

Great outdoor place. Not really a museum, more of a garden or a zoo but the garden is desert. Wonderful introduction to the southwest outdoors. Be sure to stop off at the Gates Pass senic view on your way here or back to town.

Excellent for the whole family. Expect to walk miles of paths leading to exibits, water bottles and wearing weather protection clothing such as hats is suggested. Backpacks with snacks for children may help although they do have some stores and restaurants. There are bathrooms easily located. All the exhibits are about the desert animals (snakes, spiders, scorpions, mammals, birds, mountain lion and much more), but they also have the Stingray Petting exhibit, which is amazing ($3 per person). There's a Playhouse where kids get to climb and slide. Great for children learning about animals and their habitats. We had a great time and can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely GORGEOUS! We even went on a Saturday and it wasn't terribly packed. I plan to go back

Awesome mix of indoor and outdoor displays. Beautiful buildings. Food service that was well planned and executed. Great job all around.

A zoo and botanical garden, it feels reasonably well run but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed seeing the javelinas and a few rare plants.

When we visited, there were quite a large number of exhibits, but most of the animals and birds were not observable during our visit. The signage, for the various exhibits was quite poor, and it was difficult to find everything even with a map in hand. I think it’s a wondrous place for young children and for local folks who can be members and visit several times a year. The $30 price tag is too much for the occasional tourist.

I have loved this place since I was a child. We came at opening in spring. Not much animal movement. Maybe should have waited till later morning to come.

A very popular place. A good place to learn about the different and unique types/variety of cactus.

Lots of walking, so carry a bottle to refill at the stations, because you'll be here enjoying the superb exhibits for quite a while! It has grown so much over the years! I saw my first coatimundi this trip. The plants are astounding. You must see a booking tree to believe it! Very helpful volunteers do enrichment at locations near major viewing areas. There is scattered shaded seating for taking breaks.
