Probably the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had! Chicken soup and salad were on point as well! Will definitely be back
It has been sometime since we have dined here. First off, the server was outstanding. We were seated on their outdoor patio. Very nice to see the hustle and bustle of University Avenue. We order our beverages and they were delivered promptly. We order our food choices and it didn’t take long before they were delivered to our table. The food was excellent. Prepared as requested. Again our server was on top of things and made sure our needs were met. Great experience all around. I highly recommend this establishment!
I have been to Gentle Ben’s many times and have usually had a great time (eg 5 stars), but today for lunch, it was a 4. Nothing that bad, but my burger came out too rate so I sent it back. Then it. Am out too well done/brown. They served apologized and the manage. Are out to tell me how sorry she was and told me the burger was free. Everyone else in my group loved their lunch. So….when you get your burger….check it before the server leaves the table! Service was great and we enjoyed sitting outside under cover VictorB
Awesome fun vibe at this indoor/outdoor bar and red in the heart of UofA campus. Huge variety of food options - something for everyone. Enjoyed the grilled chicken salad.
No, we weren't here for the brews, but looking for breakfast. It was past 11 am, time for their brunch menu. Made our day. The Arizona Benedict was perfection, with perfectly roasted red peppers, traditional hollandaise sauce and jalapeño bacon that added just a nice zip without overpowering heat. SO ordered a more traditional eggs, breakfast sausage and potatoes breakfast, but proclaimed that the sausages were absolutely amazing, some of the best he's ever had. I also was looking longingly at the next table where they were enjoying a bottle of champagne and a flight of juices to make your own mimosas.
Spent three weekend nights in Tucson recently. Enjoyed this restaurant enough that we ate here twice. Our server, Alex really made the difference, but we also enjoyed the high quality of the food and the beer. The Carnitas Tacos and the Copperhead Pale Ale were superior. Will be coming back. Save us a table Alex!
Always a great time with great food and drink in an awesome location. Ask for the Dizzy Delight - a throw back drink from the 80’s ! Ask Richard if no one knows what that is! LOL !
Recommend as a fun place to eat lunch on a Fall Saturday. Turned out to be a UofA game day. It was very busy, but they had lots of room to accommodate the crowd. We had no wait downstairs for lunch. They have lots of TVs to watch games, friendly staff, decent burgers and fries, and the Arizonarita is a great cocktail. The parking is a little challenging but there’s a deck about 2 blocks away. Only complaint is that the “large” guacamole appetizer is just a small 1-2oz cup and chips were cold. It’s a little pricey- two us were $90 for a couple burgers, two margaritas, and a beer.
I can see why this place was so packed. It's got something for everyone. Parents. Students. Sports bar and brew pub, a formula that's hard to screw up in a college town. Very busy, but the staff was attentive. Not forgettable, and a good place to hang with a big table of people or your family and watch a game. In the heart of everything in campus town.
Had high hopes when we walked in but the service was lackluster. Artichoke dip appetizer was excellent. Environment was a bit loud and rowdy for a family. Definitely a college bar.

Seated quickly but then totally ignored. When server finally came, he never looked up from his hand helper ordering devices. Ordered drinks but only one came(a water). He said “bar is backed up”. Place was not that busy. Took food orders. Waited another ten minutes for beers but nothing. This place is a BREWERY! Beers should be flying out of the bar. No attention from disengaged sever. Will not be back.
I had the burger stacked high with bacon, cheese and all of the fixings. The burger was a little over done, and the roll was dry, falling apart as I ate it. My wife had a soup and salad combo. The chicken tortilla soup was spicy and good with fresh avocados in it. The side of salad was a generous portion and the combo made for a nice meal. Service was good and friendly. The amber beers were enjoyable. We ate on the outside deck which made for a good spot for people watching on a Sunday afternoon.
Amazing food and service! I can’t even pick a favorite server/bartender! Best shrimp tacos in town!!!!
Five of us had lunch and it was all very good. The ceviche was tasty and the pulled pork sandwich was like BBQ burnt ends (that's a good thing.) Service was friendly and attentive. This is a good place to sit outside and watch the people wandering by.
Was traveling thru Tucson, looking for a unique place for lunch with the family. In a good location with other shops and restaurants. Socially distanced tables. We sat outside on the patio with plenty of televisions. Kids had chicken tenders with fries which was good. Wife had a salad and I had a reuben sandwich. Beer was good too! Overall good experience.
