I am a baker who continues to experiment to improve my bread, we came to Barrio Bread whole visiting Tucson. We took several loaves, they are all very tasty, great crust and the inside crumb is second to none. Simply amazing where you can tell the dedication and pursuit for excellence.
Fantastic! LOCAL. Super nice guy, staff and they give me free starter when available. Owner gives back to the community, which is much appreciated. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m just happy they exist.
Gotta taste their breads if you’re ever in Tucson! Just make sure you get there before they run out. Exquisite breads to eat while you’re in town and to take home.
OOOOH MY LORD. AMAZING bread. Absolutely amazing. We also got some tortillas and they were melt in your mouth. Can't wait to come back!
Good bread cooked all the way
This place is lame. Always closed when I come to Tucson. Sign says they "sold out" at 11am on a Thursday. .. disappointed. I won't try again or recommend. The coffee place next door, Ombre Coffee, is however wonderful and always open when the bread store isn't.

This is the best bread this side of the Mississippi, yes, you read that correctly, it's the absolute best! We moved to the area 6 months ago and tried all the bakeries in the wrea, and now we go out of our way for Barrio Bread.
Our favorite breads are the Jalapeno Cheddar, Cinnamon Raisin, Pain Au Levain, and Heritage.
The owner, Don Guerra, is always there, he is so nice, and seems so happy to share his passion for bread. There is usually a line, but totally worth the wait.
Must enjoy!

Place is very popular so expect to spend a little time in line. Review online to have an order ready to help the line move. Everything is good!!
Kid-friendliness: Don't bring young children please, line is formed right by a road.
