Incredible brisket and green chile pork; Cole slaw and potato salad are delicious, but mac and cheese is meh, velveeta maybe? And why no bread option? About $30/person w drink and tip, so not cheap. And wish I didn’t have to serve and bus myself, esp. at that price, but I guess that’s the usual these days.

The amount of food you get for the price is ridiculous. It was good, but after spending $60 on a meal for 2, we were both still hungry when we left.

Vegetarian options: I was with a vegan friend who was about to order the smoked jack fruit until the guy stuck his hand in it right after having the same hand in the meat.

Went to Bashful Bandit last Friday, mainly just to have a few beers with friends. The food smelled so delicious, I decided to have a "light snack". I ordered 2 Ribs, and a smoked jalapeno, cheddar sausage.
Wow! This was not just a snack.
The ribs were large , meaty , tender, delicious. Best ribs I've ever had in Tucson! The sausage was absolutely amazing. Smoky, spicy , garlicky, and the best part was I kept on tasting them hours later. This "snack" also came with pickles, jalapenos andpickled red onions. And there are several delicious sauces available to accompany the meat.
Good beer selection, super-friendly attentive staff. And the place is comfortable, attractive and immaculately clean. Go to Bashful Bandit Barbecue!

Went with the fam on a Friday night. Pretty quiet. Nice patio in a legacy Tucson spot, but mediocre bbq at premium prices. Brisket was the sole star: outstanding, both the lean and the fatty. Ribs: meh. Pulled pork: meh, no green chili flavor. Sausage: ok. Potato salad: quite good. Slaw: flat, I prefer a vinegar slaw but this one wasn’t very flavorful. Mac n cheese: nasty: cold, sticky, and had a chemical taste. Wish them well, but there are better bbq options in town.

Stopped in for some lunch after golf, seen the place lots of times but never stopped. Was told by friends that it was very expensive, they weren't lying. Chopped brisket sandwich and a side of beans, $23, no drink. Brisket was good, could have been a little more creative with the beans, just ranch beans you can get a the grocery store.
But the thing that surprised me was they didn't have sweet tea! Got to have sweet tea with BBQ!
Will probably come back if I get a big check, lots of OT.

Honestly, this was some of the best food I have eaten in Tucson, tho I won’t deny there is some great Mexican food.
The sliced Brisket Plate with a side of potatoes and sunflower slaw salad was exceptional beyond words. Absolutely delicious start to finish! The staff is great, all kind and helpful. Everyone seems soooo happy to be there working. Fabulous drinks too.
Met the owner Toby. Such a nice guy and so thankful for our praise of his in house smoked meat!
Will definitely go back! Can’t wait to, in fact!
Way to go Toby and staff!!!

Let me start with 2 things.
1) This is my first ever unsolicited review of anything.
2) My family has been having BBQ cook offs for over 150 years and teaching the generations the secrets.
I had won 10 years straight until my son in law who studied with me for 10 years and has won the last 11 years.

So I shy away from BBQ joining as in comparison, they are very disappointing.
However due to circumstances, the Bashful Bandit was about the only option one night in Tucson.
Not the best by our standards, however it was the very best “Commercial BBQ joint” I have ever eaten at.
Great value as well. We had the “ Bashful for 2”, 1/2 lb of falling apart brisket, 1/2 lb of your choice and 3 side for $45. We made 2 meals for 2 out of it.
If you can’t get invited to one of our cook offs, Go to the Bashful Bandit.
