About BATA

The Bata restaurant in Tucson, Arizona offers a unique farm-to-table dining experience with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the Sonora region. The menu features interesting and creative dishes, with a strong emphasis on plant-forward options and outstanding choices like the ham. The chef's team, led by Chef Tyler Fenton, takes pride in their work, evident in the beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared food. Customers praise the amazing, delicious, and innovative dishes, often highlighted by impeccable service and a wonderful wine list. The restaurant has a cool bar on the lower level and an old industrial space that adds to its atmosphere, making it a great place for special occasions or elegant evenings. Bata also has many homemade elements, including pickling and fermentation, with some customers enjoying tours of the fermentation room. The attentive and friendly staff explain each dish and provide care for the environment. The artistic presentation of the dishes enhances the dining experience. Many guests recommend trying the chef's choice tasting menu or the "let us pick for you" option, both of which showcase the creativity and freshness of the food, leaving diners delighted with the unique combinations. Although there have been some comments about the toughness of the ham and occasional temperature issues, overall, the food, service, and ambiance make Bata a true gem worth visiting.

Loved the experience! Delicious food. Will be back again!

Had a wonderful ambiance. Plates are very very very small for a normal plate price. I was underwhelmed by the four plates we tried. Wine was great. Overall, not worth the cost. Service was pretty good.

I understand the small plate concept, it’s not new to me, but your portion sizes were extremely small, $22 for 4 tiny potatoes, and $22 for one tiny skewer of mushrooms was absurd. The food was very good, but seriously, some of the prices are outrageous for such tiny portions. Atmosphere was great, but service was slow. Wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
