True hole in the wall type of place and strikes me as very authentic. Quite possibly the best green corn tamales I've had in Tucson. Perfectly moist and full of flavor. I will be back! Keep in mind, it's cash only here.
This is an underrated gem in a city filled with Mexican food restaurants that are overpriced and get national attention.
I started going here in the 80s when I was in high school. Man, it used to be really cheap, lol. The birria is great, and it was one of the first places in Tucson that served it, hence the really fun to say ,"birrieria", like cafeteria. Very good food. Lots of options. We got the red menudo, pozole, birria, and tacos de cabeza. Very good flavor on all of it. The only thing was there isnt alot of tables to seat people. But difinately would go again. Spent abt 80 bucks.
