As usual, the food is great and the prices are reasonable. The servers were really stretched and we were told by our server that "I'll be right over" three times until she finally came to take our orders. Not her fault that she couldn't get to us, but should be candid about the wait.
We had a delicious meal while celebrating my husband's birthday. This is a favorite dining spot for us!
We recently relocated to Tucson from Boston and were somewhat skeptical about Italian food in Tucson. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at Bottega Michelangelo. I had the eggplant Parmesan and my husband had the lasagna. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back.
The four of us enjoyed our food. our waiter was not attentive after taking our orders. we had to flag him down every time we needed something. he never checked on us. The lunch menu should offer some pasta dishes. that aren't so creamy. my husband ordered the tortellini and was disappointed because of the very creamy sauce. it was just too rich. I got it with a red sauce and it was so much better. you can request substitutions which I did but the menu really leans too much to these creamy sauces which, we do not find appealing. The restaurant was about half full therefore it wasn't bad noise wise. if it had been full it would be very noisy. again, it's a restaurant that has many hard surfaces and therefore noisy.
We have been dining there since they were a pizzeria on Oracle road. The Ali family has continued to step it up from the time they built the new restaurant to the present. The food is consistently great and the value excellent.
Food was yummy and portion sizes are generous. The food came quickly but the waiter was not as attentive in the beginning. Desserts are amazing! All homemade!
I specifically went for the lamb chops. Luckily they had them. I say that because one time I went and they ran out! They were delicious. For dessert I had the carrot cake. Yum!
Wow, what a disappointment. This place is running on the fumes of its soon to be gone reputation. First, we had to wait 10 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Our waiter knew nothing about the drinks or the menu. He tried hard, but I think the only training he got was how to take our money. My wife's eggplant was soggy. I always get the lasagna, and it came out lukewarm. It should be served sizzling. This is 2 times in a row this has happened. I sent it back, and it was returned warm. The wine was good, but my wife noticed 2 lines on the glasses so they won't over pour. First time I've seen that. No one ever comes around to ask how the meal is not even the waiter. Now for the noise. It is almost impossible to carry on a conversation without raising your voice, and the restaurant was only 80% full. I think it is all of the glass walls. The family that runs this restaurant seems overwhelmed by their success. Maybe they should step back and hire professional management, waiters, and a real chef. I hate to give such a bad review, but we have been going here since at least 1995, and I hate to see a local business failing like this.
Bottega Michelangelo makes some of the BEST pizza we've ever enjoyed! My husband and I order various pizzas from the restaurant's unique selection at least once a month. HIGHLY recommended!! That being said...we recently dined, for the first time, at the restaurant for happy hour. The antipasto board is excellent; however, the items offered on the bar/happy hour menu are nothing we'd order again. We selected three different menu items which are offered for 1/2 price compared to the full-day menu. All three were okay for the lower price point, but still we would not order them again. The ambience is noisy, with several customers showing their less than patient side. On a very bright note, the bartender/server -- I believe her name is Kate -- was EXTRAORDINARY! She was in command of all of the action while being very friendly, informative and accommodating! Plus, a new ordering system needed to be navigated at the same time. We'll dine at Bottega Michelangelo again, this time in the dining room. We've heard the pasta dishes are very good, so we'll give the pasta a try.
A party of five all enjoyed the food and service..The menu offers something for everyone. Pizza, pasta, soup, salad and burger all ecommended..

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which comes with ziti, and mista salad. She had a bowl of minestrone and a yellow beet salad. The chicken parm and ziti was good, but nothing to write home about, but my mista salad with gorgonzola dressing was very good. She said the minestrone was chock full of tasty ingredients, and the beet salad was also very good. The portions for all dishes were generous (we took half of it home) and the bread, which came with a dish of olive oil and balsamic for dipping, was excellent. Lastly, I ordered a slice of "chocolate mousse" cake to take home, and I wish I hadn't, but that was my fault; I didn't realize it was dark chocolate with an espresso flavor. On a previous visit, I had the "Chocolate Decadence" cake which is V-E-R-Y good.
The food and service at Michelangelo's has always been great. The only drawback is the noise level. Not easy to carry on a conversation at a table of more than 2-3, but then again some folks like that "energetic" level of decibels. It has been, and continues to be, a very popular place, partiularly during weekday happy hours, and I recommend it highly. Just be prepared to shout if you want to converse with your tablemates.
Wanted the lamb lollypops and they didn't have them. The noise level was terrible. Hard to hold a conversation.
Excelente servicio y atencion del mesero , la comida delicioso todo lo que se pidio !!! 100% lo recomiendo!!!
