The oldest dive bar on Tucson. The walls are completely tagged but customers. $5 small pitcher of Coors. The give Happy Minute coins for free drink @ 6pm everyday! Awesome.

Workers are aggressive and extremely rude, not the owners fault of course. The place itself is okay, but the workers there are the type of people you wanna stay away from, they make you feel uncomfortable and definitely aren’t nice.

This dive bar isn't the bar GQ described. The people are kinda mean. I was cussed out upon entry. Didn't enjoy this bar at all. Gross environment.

Everytime I come to Tucson, I make sure to stop by and have a Coors (or 3). It is a great mix of townies and students with everyone set on having a great time. The music selection is timeless and Lee Marvin used to drink here. I remember the owner, Ted, from when I was a student and his legacy lives on.

If you find yourself in Tucson looking for a good time, you have to stop at The Buffet. The staff is fast, friendly, and fun. As long as you follow the most important rule. Don't be a jerk and TIP YOUR BARDTENDERS! Shufleboard, pool table, and fun times. And the jello shots are just icing on the cake.

PS
Just be an adult and be nice. It's easy.

It hasn't changed since I was a regular in 1982. In this age of forgetting history, this place is a reminder and a landmark.

Been here many times over the last 20 years. The Buffet definitely has its own flare and is a classic dive bar in all of the good and bad ways. The employees are great. Here's what I DON'T like about it, and new people should be warned....

If you go to the Buffet at night (especially late) you are basically required to put up with people invading your personal space and barking super weird comments and questions at you. This is especially true if you go alone. There are tons of regulars that think they own the bar, get constantly way over-served to the point they don't know what's going on, and they will talk loudly from a few inches away from people's faces and cause awkward situations and / or violence frequently. Many seem to think it's part of the charm here, but I've seen people get super pissed off and into fights for years in there because of this.

If you are new and looking for a place to go yourself or bring a couple friends and have a private conversation, the Buffet is probably not the place. If you're looking to meet new rowdy people in a close together setting who will want to get to know you personally and loudly, and tie one on, it can work for that. People staying there all day and drinking 40+ drinks and being incoherent is a normal occurrence.
